Did you feel like you got hit on the head yesterday? That’s because Paramount Global has axed streamer Noggin, which launched as a cable channel in 199, before developing its own paid service in 2015. Nine years later, Paramount Global is on fire, and they need to cut costs. A lot of the basic core programs of Noggin are available on Paramount Plus anyway, so I’m sure this is just a redundancy they felt was needed. I was more surprised that 800 people worked for Noggin. Well, the wrong costume won The Masked Singer. Not the one I was rooting for, although, when the winner was revealed, I can’t say that’s a bad person to have on top. Also, Starz is seemingly trying to just turn into the Power network. After rapidly cancelling Heels earlier this year, and recently announcing the upcoming 3rd season of Hightower will be its last, they just cancelled Shining Veil. Really, I’m at a point with Starz that since they offer no accessibility, if they cancel Minx, I really don’t know why I would continue to subscribe. Well, I said, and I’ll say it again, the post-strike cancellation wave is still bashing us. It likely will take a break for Turkey Day, but not before Disney Plus could axe The Muppets Mayhem. In fact, on the film side, rumor has it that they are trying to sell off The Bike Riders. Dancing With The Stars certainly took the magic of Disney night to max corporate synergy. Meanwhile, some top Hollywood talent are meeting with the SAG negotiations to see what’s up. Friday The 13th was a very unlucky day for one show. Apple pulled the plug on The After Party after two seasons. I’m not really sure why. It always baffles me when a show I see having a strong social media presence among the people in my feed gets cancelled, because it seems so rare that they ever bother to post about shows. but, while the new season was running, I had friends who were really into it. Well, the shoe dropped. ABC officially cancelled Home Economics. It’s an odd decision, considering everything I’ve read suggests that sitcoms are the quickest thing to get back on the air.
