MAX is sticking with And Just Like That, picking up the series for a third season. Also, Paramount Plus confirmed that the show is coming this fall, and will at least have a brief linear appearance on CBS. 12) X-Men (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I hate seeing this show on the bottom, but narratively, they just got back from Genosha, and there was zero mention of Gambit. He never shows up to fight the episodes central villain Juggernaut, and instead we get Colossus, which is great. I love that big Ruskie. But, to act like Gambit … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/22/23

I saw a glimmer of TV news that reminded me that ABC’s limbo shows are all still in limbo. Decisions have not been made yet firmly on a second season of The Rookie Feds, a fourth season of Home Economics, or a first season of the Good Doctor spinoff The Good Lawyer. Technically, the only one whose cast is still held is The Rookie Feds, however, SAG has in their strike rules that when a strike occurs, deals like this that are in place essentially will give an extension of how many days were left at the time of the … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/15/23

I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. So take this strike, and if there is a relatively obscure series on a streaming service right now that you have not seen yet… watch the hell out of it. It likely will get purged. Honestly, I never thought HBo would purge Westworld, so all bets are off. 11) Dark Winds (AMC Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: not Yet … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/08/23

Not a huge list of titles, but I did spend a bulk of the day at a theatre watching Oppenheimer (review coming soon). It has only fueled me even more to talk about audio description, so lets go! 9) Desperate Housewives (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I feel like this is probably a much better show, but it is quite tough to navigate without audio description. Making an investment in a series with over 100 episodes would be nice for Hulu, and would make what is somewhat a classic TV show available to all. It’s hard for me … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/01/23

Well, after intense pressure, Jeopardy pushed back the Tournament Of Champions they were planning to do without their writing staff, who are currently on strike. So, good for them. I also happened to look ahead at August, which broke my heart. Why are all the best shows ending this year? Breeders, Reservation Dogs, and Archer all return for their final seasons in August. 8) American Born Chinese (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed The scene between Michelle Yeoh and Stephanie Szu was the best moment, but this show still feels so disconnected with these different storylines, and … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/25/23

It’s funny how that last episode of Silo that I reviewed yesterday felt so much like a Season Finale, and so many streaming shows cap at 8, I just thought that was the finale. Apparently not. Hah. Damn, that will be hard to top. In other TV news, I’m still supporting the actors and writers for striking to not be replaced by AI. If they don’t do it now, they won’t be working later anyway. Although, the studios current proposal on scanning background talent to use their likeness in perpetuity really makes me wonder who would go be a background … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/18/23

It’s amazing how many people out there have no problem consuming the work of the SAG and WGA but are complaining now because they think actors are little babies. While streaming residuals are a factor, since syndication and linear viewing are down, it is not the only factor. The use of AI technology is a key factor in both guilds. The writers do not want AI to be a credited screenwriter taking over their job, nor do the SAG want AI images of them used in perpetuity. The major studios and networks want to do things like scan crowd scenes … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/14/23

Black Adam

Where I Watched It: HBo MAX English Audio Description provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: William Michael Redmond I could use this entire time to just talk about whatever the heck is going on at the DC branch of Warner Bros. Discovery. But, that’s like choosing a graduate thesis at this point, and having to break down how Everytime the company is supposed to turn right, they turn and run away. Truthfully, i wish the best for james Gunn, but I think it will go about as well as it did for Zack Snyder. When everything in the DC Universe resembled … Continue reading Black Adam

Enolah Holmes 2

Where I Watched It: Netflix Audio Description Provided By: Descriptive Video Works Written By: Sarah Vindel Narrated By Sophie Benson While I don’t have an existing review of the original, even though I usually go back through and review a film’s prior entries when a sequel drops, it’s because I was one of the few people underwhelmed by Enolah Holmes to begin with. It’s not that Millie Bobbi Brown isn’t good in the role, I just didn’t find the initial entry that attention grabbing. Here, the titular detective has opened her own office, but no one wants to hire a … Continue reading Enolah Holmes 2
