I wish I could toss out this list and fill it with all of the amazing performances of Matthew Perry that I managed to watch yesterday. Perry was such a tremendous talent, who landed too many one-and-done shows that truly deserved a second season. The writers struck for minimums in writers rooms, and I guess The CW’s All American Homecoming and Superman and Lois had rooms above the new increased minimum, so they are firing some to reduce costs and shrinking the writers rooms. I do believe as I’m writing this, that the Maine mass shooter is still at large. A tremendous tragedy we seem unable and unwilling to stop, or even attempt to reduce the possibility of recurrence. Well, that was a lot faster the next time around. Also, Fran Drescher wrote a guest column for Deadline.com that is worth a read if you’re interested in hearing from the horses mouth about the Actor’s strike. She’s actually not exaggerating when she says their profession is at risk. The proposed AI rules from the studios, allowing them to scan and own the likeness of talent in perpetuity, could have eliminated most of SAG within just a few years. Best Buy announced they will no longer be selling physical media after this holiday season. That breaks my heart.
