I loved the stuff happening with Tabitha, and how she begins to believe she never left the nightmare (though I’m pretty sure she did). And, I once again considered revival, but they haven’t added audio description to the next episode, so I’m in a standoff. It’s a standoff that is close to me giving up and throwing up a review on Rotten … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 08/09/25

After trying a new theme for a day, the genies finally figured out my original theme was Gazette. So, we’re back. The original theme. Let me know if something is still wrong, but this is the theme I had for ten years. Visually, I don’t know if I need to play around with anything to get it back to where it was, but there should be a search bar now. TV News: there’s been enough movement the past couple of days for me to recap some of the decisions. Netflix gave Virgin River an early Season 8 renewal, as Season 7 concludes filming. Apple also did the same for Slow Horses, which got a Season 7 renewal, even though Season 6 has yet to premiere. Apple also picked up the new Sci-Fi series MurderBot for a second season. ABC has gone straight to series on the Scrubs revival after Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke solidified deals to return to the series, which could land as early as mid season. In … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 07/11/25

The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/13/23

Yesterday was the nominations for the Critics Choice Film section, and my quick hot take is: they are more concerned with being a bellwether for predicting the Oscar’s that they aren’t doing anything interesting anymore. I think their choices are solid, and mostly what everyone is talking about, with very few exceptions. It’s just that I’ve spent the whole year listening to critics all over the internet talk about their undying love of Past Lives, and how much they want to give Selene Song an Oscar nomination in director, or how is’t a shame that Tao Yoo and John Meggaro … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/13/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/21/23

I almost finished a fifth show, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, so another short list for you this day. Also, Fran Drescher wrote a guest column for Deadline.com that is worth a read if you’re interested in hearing from the horses mouth about the Actor’s strike. She’s actually not exaggerating when she says their profession is at risk. The proposed AI rules from the studios, allowing them to scan and own the likeness of talent in perpetuity, could have eliminated most of SAG within just a few years. It’s sad to know that 84% of SAG makes … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/21/23

Best Buy announced they will no longer be selling physical media after this holiday season. That breaks my heart. I have a massive physical media collection of DVD’s and BluRay’s, and before losing my vision, I used to love to hit up Best Buy on Black Friday, run in and grab a ton of new entries to my collection for cheap. Now, I’m all worried about whether or not something has audio description, which shockingly not every disc does. 12) Chip and Dale’s Rescue Rangers (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended It’s not down here because of quality, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/14/23

So AMPTPA walked away from SAG talks all pissy, because SAG didn’t make the deal. look, the studios had a lot of way more specific deals to iron out with SAG than the WGA and DGA, and saying you offered them the same deal is impossible. Did you commit to having hairstylists on set who are able to properly style ethnic hair? Did you guarantee the safety of extras on set? Did you agree to stop trying to scan everyone and stop owning their likeness in perpetuity? I bet if these negotiations were available for regular folk to watch, AMPTPA … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/11/23

Your TV news for the day is that the upcoming 3rd season of Vikings: Valhalla will be its last. 11) The Continental (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Thank God this is behind me. I was so over this show. Mel Gibson really gave his all to an unredeemable villain, but as far as the rest goes, this feels nothing like the franchise from which it was adapted. it has so much dialogue, it almost feels like a more violent TV adaptation of oceans 11. Final Grade: C- 10) Trophy Wife (hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended The … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/07/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/30/23

Welcome to Spooky Season, where I will be stepping up your coverage of the scariest and spookiest films to watch this season. But for today, it’s just a regular old roundup. 14) The Continental (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited From the minds of people who never watched the original John Wick franchise comes a boring show with little to no action sequences and more dialogue in one episode than in the entire John Wick universe. I hate this show. Episode Grade: D+ 13) The Summer I Turned Pretty (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Renewed I’m not really … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/30/23

No big TV news, so I’ll use my intro spot to announce that Lily Gladstone, the one-time front runner for Best Supporting Actress, has now flipped and decided to run for Lead Actress. We now call this “Pulling a Michelle Williams.” Hopefully she dominates the movie, because she is now competing in films where the lead Actress is in a film clearly about them. 10) Alias (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m still saying that this show is too action oriented to not have audio description. However, the second episode did have more dialogue. And, if you … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/19/23

If all you have is Network TV, tonight you are in luck. CBS begins airing the first season of Yellowstone. Give it a looksie. Also, later in the week, look out for the season premiere of the new season of American Horror Story, as well as the final season of Sex Education. 12) Boy Meets World (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I could have skipped this episode. It’s just this weird Halloween themed episode where Cory thinks he’s turning into a werewolf. However, it does bring Topanga back who hasn’t had anything to do in Season 2, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/16/23
