Movies With pride: The Normal Heart

I believe fairly recently, I mentioned to someone why I was taking the opportunity to celebrate Movies With Pride in the month of June. I’m a blind film critic, and my driving force in life is to change the perspective on how blind and low vision people do actually enjoy films, and that there’s just this massive problem in terms of getting the accessibility we need on a consistent basis. This month, I made it a point to track down some titles I hadn’t yet reviewed, at least from my blind perspective that highlight the LGBTQ community in impactful ways. … Continue reading Movies With pride: The Normal Heart

The Small Screen Diaries- 01/09/2024

I was totally all ready to watch Echo yesterday morning during my workout period, and it turned out that it didn’t drop until later? Weird. Anyway, I’ll have thoughts on the first episode of that in the next episode. I really want to start by acknowledging the loss of Adan Canto, who fans might know from The Cleaning Lady, but I recognized from Designated Survivor. A rather surprising loss, as he was only 42. Also, I would be remiss in mentioning that MAX, in their continuing wisdom, has decided not to do a third season of Our Flag Means Death. … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries- 01/09/2024

The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/07/23

Your TV news for the day is that the upcoming 3rd season of Vikings: Valhalla will be its last. 11) The Continental (Peacock) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Thank God this is behind me. What a disappointing day of TV. 13) The Crowded Room (Apple Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited So, the show is going to try and confuse you through poor direction and writing. Got it. If this turns out that he has a split personality disorder, and this is like identity, I’m calling it now. We open with a shooting, and then transition to Tom Holland sitting in an interrogation room, where he talks about his time in high school and buying weed. WHAT? Luckily, I love Holland, so I’ll give this one more episode, but that was an awful … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/09/23

Spoiler Alert!

Where I Watched It: Peacock English Audio Description?: Yes I wonder if there are any other critics who find it odd that not only did I just watch a movie about Michael Ausiello, but now I have to write a review about it. The possibility that one day, someone might play Roger Ebert in a biopic has crossed my mind, but it’s Ausiello who made it to the screen first. For those who don’t devour entertainment, Ausiello is an entertainment journalist with a focus on writing about television. I have been a big fan of TVLine since the beginning, and … Continue reading Spoiler Alert!

Emmy Winners

Honestly? I didn’t watch the Emmy’s tonight. I’ve lost all hope that the Emmy voters have any idea who to vote for. The nominations are silly. And, oh look, Breaking Bad swept the drama category. Oh, hey, Modern Family won… again. Breaking Bad has already won the Emmy for Best Drama series (last year). Anna Gunn won last year. Aaron Paul won two years ago. He won the year before that. Bryan Cranston won that year too. Cranston also won in 2009, and 2008. Bryan Cranston has now won 4 Emmys for playing Walter White, Aaron Paul has won three, … Continue reading Emmy Winners
