While I watch these older shows, I can’t help but think how much better they would be with audio description, and I want a world where we also prioritize the back catalog of TV shows as well as films. Where I Watched it: MAX English Audio Description?: Yes This is the newest winner of the project Greenlight series. Of course, back in the day, the winner got a theatrical release, but I suppose you get what you get nowadays. The judges made sure to pick a woman of color to show off how underrated that group is. Well, the WGA didn’t end up going back to the table after all. So the strike is still on. i truly believe these studios refuse to budge on AI, and the guilds can’t afford to, because they understand once they allow it in the door contractually it will start putting people out of work. I did a two hour interview on audio description yesterday, and i still had time to watch all of this plus a movie. Plus, there’s actual TV news to talk about! Amazon has renewed The Summer i Turned Pretty for a third season, while Apple plus will not be moving forward with City on Fire. Not a huge list of titles, but I did spend a bulk of the day at a theatre watching Oppenheimer (review coming soon). RIP Paul Reubens. Such an unexpected blow. For a lot of people my age, he really helped to shape our childhoods. His Playhouse was a magnificent ball of fun, and his movies certainly were head scratchers for critics, but not kids. It’s a slow news day, but you know how all the streaming services have these random films that didn’t do well at the box office, or were even theatrically released, and were made years ago?
