Shonda Rhimes had three dramas on ABC Thursday, and they all did extremely well. Grey’s Anatomy started off the night with 9.8 million viewers and 3.0 in the demo, followed by Scandal with 11.9 million viewers and 3.8 in the demo, and the premiere of How To Get Away With Murder, which actually built on Scandal for 14 million viewers and a 3.8 in the demo. There can only be 15 episodes a season for How To Get Away With Murder, so the bigger question is “how fast will ABC order a second season?”
Over on NBC, Parenthood only saw 4.3 million eyes for its final season opener, with a 1.4 in the demo. It was “murdered” by Shonda Rhimes. On FOX, Bones drew 6.2 million viewers (for a very controversial episode), and a 1.6 in the demo.
Next Thursday, The CW debuts their lineup of Reign and The Vampire Diaries, and FOX adds Gracepoint, while NBC adds A To Z and Bad Judge.
