The Too Much TV Roundup- November 13th

Five shows enter the race. Who makes it to the top? That’s why you’re here.

5) Wedding Season (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: No

Wedding Season is a Hulu original without audio description. I get to shows late, and this thing dropped in September. it’s November. So for about two months, the lack of audio description on an actual hulu title, has not bothered Hulu. When i called to ask about the audio description for this title, I was told it was a known issue. Based on its release date, it might be a known issue for two months. It really highlights how little Hulu cares.

Final Grade: Apathy

I could review this, but honestly, I, like Hulu, cannot be bothered. The show was difficult to follow as it blurs genres, and timelines, and relied heavily on visual gags/plot elements. This is a show I will not continue watching until it has audio description, so a grade is rather pointless.

4) Rami (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

i think my favorite scene in the first episode of Season 3 was rami talking about classist behavior, and how it might be hard for someone with money to relate to someone who doesn’t have money, and his date got flustered and decided that she must only be there for sex. Apparently she couldn’t hold an intelligent and thoughtful conversation. Welcome back, Rami.

Episode Grade: B+

3) So help me Todd (CBS/Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I saw the ending of the case coming a mile away, at least in part. There’s a line in here where they are talking about the elements and Susan brings up that Oregon is working on passing what they are calling “The Britney Spears ordinance”. Out of context, I think we should all have a Britney Spears Ordinance. I think it’s hilarious to hear that phrase uttered out loud, even with it’s very well intentioned meaning.

Episode Grade: B+

2) Big Shot (Disney Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Sam is kicked off the team for failing, and Coach is still trying to ground his daughter, who has a very valid point about how ending her birthday on a celebration about him was not the right move. he keeps trying to punish her, she keeps avoiding him, and while he thinks she broke some tremendous rule, he has yet to have that inner reflection that what he did was selfish, which is why everyone squirmed at thte idea when it was first mentioned. This series has been all about Coach’s growth, and to see him so frustratingly lacking these past two episodes is affecting my ability to like the…. Oh shit! Is that a wildfire? Well, this show just took an insane turn.

Episode Grade: A-

1) Beavis and Butthead (Paramount Plus)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I feel like this 10th episode was the final of the season. And to top it off with Beavis trying to go around to various religions to learn how to score, which resulted in some deep conversations about Iron Man, was perfect. it was only one storyline this episode, and it was all we needed.

Episode Grade: A
