So many shows didn’t make this list, from the terrific Ghosts, to Atlanta which won Supporting Actor. This was a hard list to assemble, and slowly doing so left me with some shows that ended that I can never list again, which saddens me greatly.

I feel like my list has some obvious choices and some curveballs. Find me another critic who put Trying or breeders in their top 10. They don’t exist. But, yes, I think hacks is the Best Comedy Series of 2022. It reinvented itself, which could have been a disaster, but just proved that we didn’t need the Vegas backdrop,these writers and this cast were fine anywhere in America. And, I do believe that Reboot was the freshest and best new comedy. While I love Abbott Elementary, it does owe its format to many other hits like The Office and Parks and Rec, whereas other than the actual shows being Rebooted, Reboot doesn’t have that same effect. not to mention how openly it talks about their show-within-a-show being on Hulu, and possibly not getting to move forward, like it’s challenging Hulu to renew or cancel it right there in the writing.
