Not Really A Review Of The Creator

So why am i not really reviewing The Creator? Well, because Hulu be Hulu. The Creator is a rather expensive Fox titles released by Disney that wound up on Hulu a couple weeks ago. On New Year’s Eve, I published my review on my Youtube, and i think it’s important to post it rather quickly here. Even there, it isn’t really a review.

I’ve watched a bunch of films this year because I think it’s important to explain what was missing by the choice to deny me reasonable accommodations for my disability by not providing audio description, especially on something that has an existing audio description track, which The Creator does. So, apathy is why my disability doesn’t matter, and it happens far too often to be a Hulu title. I’m much harsher when I know the title has audio description, and even more so when it is coming from Disney, who has already integrated Hulu as a beta into Disney Plus.

There’s no excuse Hulu can give me as to why the audio description does not run with their stream of The creator. None. I’ve seen films this year and admitted how disappointing it is, because I could tell that this project was “my thing”. For the first time since his debut, I was kinda enjoying a Garett Edward’s film. his Godzilla is a slog. But I actually realized I really wanted to see this, and I plan to. So while Hulu wants to charge me 20 bucks to disrespect me through their lack of concern about audio description, I now will pay money to see this again at a later date. Then I will give you a real review, and then I will be able to talk about what I’m sure is an exceptional audio description track.

But until then, Hulu remains the most disappointing streaming service. At least Peacock manages to day and date their theatrical titles that move to streaming. Hulu can’t even bother to do that. I can click on The Holdovers when it drops on Peacock and get audio description, but I can’t watch The Creator on Hulu weeks after it has dropped. Absurd.
