X-Men 97- My concerns stand from the previous episode, but this one focuses primarily on a battle between X-Force and X-Factor as they aren’t on the same page about how to move forward. I think there is a missed opportunity here to acknowledge that Havok is Cable’s uncle, which we aren’t sure he’s aware of, but using his last name would have given Cable pause. Nice to see some lesser used characters like Strong Guy and Wolfsbane,even though the latter of the two was in the live action New Mutants. It was also clever how they repurposed the opening title sequence. They talked about an X-Force spinoff from Deadpool 2 anchored by Cable, and this again toys with that. Would you watch an X-Force series or film?

Unchosen- It’s hard to tell if Sam is good or bad, or just trying to survive by any means necessary. Man, that scene with him and Adam though? WAY out of the blue. I don’t know what to think anymore about this.

Unconditional- Our poor mother is used, as she realizes at the end. She’s trying so hard, doesn’t know who to trust, but is dying of thirst so much, she’s guzzling all the sand. She just wants her daughter home by any means necessary. If you love International shows, this is the best I’ve seen in 2026, and has excellent audio description and some really strong dubbing.

The Comeback- Deeply inadequate audio description that is uncredited. I think even for the format, this still falls short. Yes, there is a lot of talking, but the effort here from the AD team was really low. A lot of visual cues are missed. We are constantly changing locations. I couldn’t understand how her husband didn’t see a treadmill either.

Tracker- Tracker has started to feel more and more procedural, with less of a focus on season long story arcs, like that clandestine group Colter fought at the beginning of the season. I’m in the bored phase. The AD is lovely though, but the series is starting to lose me.

The Audacity- AMC Plus selectively describes, so episodes 1 and 3 had audio description, but 2 and 4 do not. Weird. I’m not in love with the show, but it has eom fun performances, notably from Zach Galafanakis.

Virgin River- Another season down of a show I can’t believe I’m still watching. I saw this with my mom, who commented on one scene that looked really fake and she said they shouldn’t have zoomed in on the trees, because they were clearly fake, in a series that most of the time has lovely scenery to it. Otherwise, it ends on a cliffhanger, mostly for Mel and Jack.Mostly. The AD is reliable here.

Dutton Ranch- Beth is so fucking boring in this. Someone has reinterpreted Beth Dutton as a character with no teeth, when the best thing about her was that she felt like a woman scorned even if she hadn’t been. I’m tired of watching her lazily sleepwalk through a show that neutered her. Beth is a fucking Queen, give her the space to burn some shit down. It is your typical Taylor Sheridan audio description.

If I said best audio description, I’d have to lean on the reliability of shows like Tracker, Virgin River, or Dutton ranch, with the clear loser being The Comeback. Even in a day where I’m not sure if X-Men 97 is human, and The Audacity didn’t even have AD, The Comeback is too woefully inadequate to ignore. To be clear, I ahve no problem with the choice of audio description performer, but it is everything else.
