Movies With Pride: A Single Man

As pride month continues, I really wanted to take a look at something that I had not seen in years, but remained striking. I’ve seen and already reviewed films that are near and dear, but Tom Ford’s A Single Man isn’t something I have a nostalgic attachment for, but rather just something that the question is does it hold up on the second viewing? Now that I’m blind, I’ve experienced films differently, in both ways. Some films seem to get better, particularly films with strong violence that might have been a turnoff. Not being able to see gore allows me … Continue reading Movies With Pride: A Single Man

Empire Of Light

Where I Watched It: HBO MAX English Audio description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Christian Simpson Sam Mendes is a director that gets me into a film, cast be damned. I won’t make any claim that he has hit a home run every single time, but he’s a very strong director at bat. Generally, he has delivered some terrific work. For the longest time, when i was young and first starting to explore the art of cinema, I would refer to American Beauty as my favorite film. Times change, the lists move around, and while I still rank that movie … Continue reading Empire Of Light

The Too Much TV Roundup- August 14th

I started a few more shows today, and sadly none of them reached the top spot. Sometimes, it takes time. 1) Only Murders In The building (Hulu) English Audio Description: Yes The winner today was everyone’s favorite gang of podcasters, who continue to try and solve the mystery of why they are being framed. but, it was the injection of some heavy hitting guest stars that sent this episode over the top, from Tina Fey’s unnecessarily cutthroat rival caster, Jane Lynch’s always welcome return as the one time stunt double, Amy Ryan’s deliciously evil killer, or Michael Rappaport’s exhausted lead … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- August 14th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 28th

When it’s your birthday, what shows do you pick out? Do you pick out all winners? I feel pretty good about my assortment of shows. 1) Ozark (Netflix) English Audio Description Available?: Yes One thing is for sure. I’m going to miss the hell out of this show. What a clusterfuck this episode was in a brilliant way. Wendy spent so much time trying to do her usual maneuvering to try and get Mel out of the picture so he couldn’t testify in her custody hearing, but it was all for naught. Meanwhile, maybe she’s starting to see what Marty … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 28th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 21st

Since starting doing this daily instead of weekly, i think I’ve always managed at least 5 shows. These January 6th hearings, plus trying to watch a movie everyday is throwing my rhythm off. And, you know, I don’t actually sit in front of a TV all day. 1) The Staircase (HBOMAX) English Audio Description Available?: Yes I was impressed pretty much right out of the gate with this HBO Limited series. No, I didn’t watch the Netflix doc. But, Colin Firth doesn’t usually, if ever, drop his accent, so hearing him pull off an American accent was interesting in itself. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 21st
