Happy Valentine’s Day! For this Valentine’s I got you some TV News to start your day. Apple has renewed Invasion for a 3rd season, while Netflix has picked up Survival Of The Thickest for a second season. The latter of the two took way too long, and must have come down to a budgeting wire. Yesterday was the nominations for the Critics Choice Film section, and my quick hot take is: they are more concerned with being a bellwether for predicting the Oscar’s that they aren’t doing anything interesting anymore. It took way too long, but Peacock has finally given Twisted Metal a second season. Based on everything I heard about the ratings, this should have happened a long time ago. Following up on my earlier post about The Great, there are rumors that HBo is looking at picking up the show, as some major stars were already rumored to be joining the Season 4 cast, and the show was apparently in pre-production. While not TV news, I am always looking around the inter webz for Oscar thoughts, and I do love the people predicting the Oscars who acknowledge that it’s weird that everyone is predicting the same things. I know, which is why I’m actually trying not to. This time last year, we had Tom Cruise and Hugh Jackman as frontrunners. It’s like, they say they want shows beyond just Marvel and Star Wars, but after cancelling Doogie yesterday, and not moving forward with this… do they? Here’s the deal. I was busy. So, even though this says the Too Much TV roundup, today it feels very much like the normal amount of TV roundup.
