Blitz

Blitz (Apple Plus)- It Could Have Been So Much Better Quick Take: Steve McQueen is a great director. 12 Years A Slave, Widows, and Mangrove are all excellent. This is not. He made a very mediocre war film that was Apple’s final hope, that Oscar prognosticators had thought might find a groundswell at BAFTA, and it just ended up being one of the lost films of the year. Honestly, I didn’t hate Blitz. The audio description is insufficient, but it isn’t bad. It is just disappointing. Sometimes, it is bad to be disappointing. The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/20/23

Well, the wrong costume won The Masked Singer. Not the one I was rooting for, although, when the winner was revealed, I can’t say that’s a bad person to have on top. Also, Starz is seemingly trying to just turn into the Power network. After rapidly cancelling Heels earlier this year, and recently announcing the upcoming 3rd season of Hightower will be its last, they just cancelled Shining Veil. So, this isn’t so much a traditional review as one of my rants about audio description and the lack thereof. Triangle Of sadness has a large ensemble. i mention this because as a sighted person, I relied a lot on facial recognition to follow characters. It was really easy. Now, I try … Continue reading Triangle Of Sadness

Where The Crawdads Sing

Where i Watched It: Netflix English Audio Description provided By: Media Access Group Narrated By: Michael Bove It might seem like I should have reviewed this film a while ago, and you’d be right. It was released theatrically in July, and it was that moment that prompted me to go “Hey, i should knock this book out before it hits streaming.” That didn’t happen right away, I needed a few extra weeks, and here we are. of course, I also broke the cardinal sin of enjoying film… never read the book. The book is never as good as the movie, … Continue reading Where The Crawdads Sing
