The studios claim they have made their best and final offer to the WGA,. After four days of negotiations, the two are scheduled to meet again today. I do believe this has to be ratified by the membership, so if there aren’t major concessions made by the studios it won’t pass. The strike has been going on for a lot longer than the studios thought they would. That’s for sure. I haven’t seen another movie abandon ship from 2023 yet. While I watch these older shows, I can’t help but think how much better they would be with audio description, and I want a world where we also prioritize the back catalog of TV shows as well as films. I read that George RR Martin’s deal with HBo has been suspended, and I wonder why. Is he a member of the WGA? I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. Actually, none of it is. Just take some of these CEO salaries, lower them, and you’ll have the money to pay for some of this stuff. Also, for the poor people without cable or Peacock, Yellowstone is coming to CBS in the fall since they are a little short on new programming. Add to that, the UK version of Ghosts, which I’m at least interested in checking out.

Yesterday, i did attend another panel at the American Council Of The Blind’s virtual conference, this one on TTS audio description. I still squeezed in a lot of shows, because it was shorter, and most of these are half hour shows. Also, in TV News! Melissa McBride has reportedly rejoined the Daryl/Carol spinoff, instead of taking a break. or maybe she just didn’t need a long break.
