The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/11/23

So AMPTPA walked away from SAG talks all pissy, because SAG didn’t make the deal. look, the studios had a lot of way more specific deals to iron out with SAG than the WGA and DGA, and saying you offered them the same deal is impossible. Did you commit to having hairstylists on set who are able to properly style ethnic hair? Did you guarantee the safety of extras on set? Did you agree to stop trying to scan everyone and stop owning their likeness in perpetuity? I bet if these negotiations were available for regular folk to watch, AMPTPA … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/11/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/16/23

Not really TV news, but it could be. I have finally found a title with audio description on MGM Plus, albeit a movie. I’ve been clicking on random titles, and so far the small list I’ve got includes: The machinist, Dungeons and Dragons honor Among Thieves, Women Talking, 3000 Years Of Longing, The Firm, Failure To Launch, and Lemony Snicket’s A Series Of unfortunate Events. I will keep searching, but I haven’t found a show yet with AD. It would make sense for them to expand to their shows, especially their biggest hit Godfather Of Harlem. 11) Mad Men (AMC … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/16/23

Scream 4

Where I Watched it: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: No Scream 4 is kind of brilliant. It doesn’t have audio description, but I’ve been a fan of this since the beginning. Taking a leap forward in time, and bringing in a fresh cast, Scream 4 played off the rules set forth by a slew of horror remakes that came out in the 2000’s, as well as the rise of the torture porn sub genre started with Saw, and doing it all while feeling very much like a Scream movie. I’ve seen Scream 4 before several times, and since Scream 5 … Continue reading Scream 4

Scream 3

Where i Watched it: Paramount Plus english Audio Description?: No Yes, I am continuing to push forward through the Scream franchise on paramount Plus just in case at some point they decided to add audio description. Sadly, they did not. Scream 3 features our Core 3 Sidney (Neve Campbell), Gale (Courtney Cox), and Dewey (david Arquette) pulled back in when another survivor is killed, and the cast of the current Stab films start becoming the new victims. The script seems to outline who will die next, but it’s been rewritten so many times, what version does the killer have? it’s … Continue reading Scream 3

Scream 2

Where I Watched it: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: no This is far from my second time watching Scream 2. I have highly regarded this sequel since I grew up with the Scream franchise in my teen years. I can’t imagine how many times I’ve seen Scream 2, but it’s a lot. And, in preparation for Scream 6 dropping on Paramount Plus, i figured I’d run back through the old films again. Sadly, now I can’t see, and now these films lack audio description. I’m not really sure what the business model for Paramount Plus is, as I’ve tried to … Continue reading Scream 2

Scream

Where i Watched It: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: No This is a rewatch for me. I’ve seen Scream many times before when I had sight, so I’m very familiar with this film. I was surprised my mom let me see it back in the day. It was one of my first true entries into horror in a theatre that wasn’t edited for cable. I had the VHS, and I watched it all the time. Of course, back then, it was game changing. Drew Barrymore was on the front and center of the poster, and she dies in the first … Continue reading Scream
