NBC announced some solid news items yesterday. Apparently, they were the only smart network, and actually have episodes banked. So, SAG is on strike. It’s a great time to catch up on a show, since most of the shows haven’t been shooting, and now even more of them won’t be. I’ve heard some overseas productions are still filming. I’m not sure how. Sex Education is ending with Season 4. I’m OK with that. It’s a show about High Schoolers. one of their main cast is now Doctor Who. And, several key cast aren’t coming back for the final season. I always enjoy being able to drop some TV knowledge at the top. Freeform has cancelled The Watchful Eye and Single Drunk Female. Neither one of these had audio description. Yesterday, i did attend another panel at the American Council Of The Blind’s virtual conference, this one on TTS audio description. I still squeezed in a lot of shows, because it was shorter, and most of these are half hour shows. Also, in TV News! Melissa McBride has reportedly rejoined the Daryl/Carol spinoff, instead of taking a break. or maybe she just didn’t need a long break. Well, NBC has opted to not renew American Auto after all. Looks like a solid victim of the writers strike, as they needed to either extend contracts at the end of the month, or cancel. I read an interesting news story that fans of Netflix shows have noticed that Netflix loves to cancel their product, and are now banding together to try and stop these cancellations. For example, there’s an entire subreddit devoted to Shadow and Bone where over 24K fans keep rewatching the show over and over to keep its numbers up. I wonder if just going to work, and leaving your Netflix running on Shadow and Bone couldn’t at least get you some hours in there.
