I read an interesting news story that fans of Netflix shows have noticed that Netflix loves to cancel their product, and are now banding together to try and stop these cancellations. For example, there’s an entire subreddit devoted to Shadow and Bone where over 24K fans keep rewatching the show over and over to keep its numbers up. I wonder if just going to work, and leaving your Netflix running on Shadow and Bone couldn’t at least get you some hours in there.
Also, Richard Dreyfuss did an interview where he wanted to know why he can’t play a black man. So that happened.
14) History of The World part 2 (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Limited Series
After finally having seen History Of The World Part 1, I’m reminded even more of how this feels absolutely nothing like that, nor does it match the humor of Mel Brooks. It really feels like some new odd sketch comedy series, where they bounce all over the place. They aren’t even trying to recreate Brooks’s level of humor. Sure, the genetic Khan thing was funny, but that would have also made a great SNL sketch, which is not what the first film was.

12) Lucky Hank (AMC Plus)
English Audio Description?: No

I really need audio description. It just comes down to being able to understand the show at this point, which I’m struggling even more with in the second episode. As Hank’s father looks closer to slithering his way back into his life, Hank’s journey seems to take a turn toward the “no dialogue, I ahve no idea what’s going on” realm. Parts of this were just dialogue heavy, but other parts were long gaps.

In season 6, Tim finally decides to get a new phone line. But, will it be installed on time? This kinda felt like they only had half a concept for the episode, and hoped the charm of the cast would save the rest.

mickey’s four picks were up next, and I’m sorry, but these judges are on crack. i know the goal here is to find an atypical performer, but there wasn’t a single thing about the guy singing Just The Two Of Us that was remotely country. Meanwhile, the girl who was the most polished and ready to go, who was actually my favorite of the four, got the axe. So, this fell down the rankings. Baffling decisions.

Athena had the worst Valentines Day, after not being able to realize that she was being lured into a trap by a crazy bitch. That whole chunk of the episode was a bit much. I really suspended my disbelief that Athena, who has been a boss asss cop since Day 1, would find herself in this situation, and that the girl truly believed she could cut up her boyfriend and just superglue him back together.

Casting is everything. I already expressed that i wasn’t a fan of young pip, and then older pip comes into play and I’m still not sure I approve. It seems like this role must be impossible to cast, or the director had a vision for his Pip where he lacked personality.

The purse was really in that obvious of a place the whole time? Really? The strength and weakness of the show are how these women react to a potential apocalypse. Sometimes, it can be hilarious, and other times, frustrating.

6) Frasier (Paramount Plus)

in this episode where Niles is now poor, and has to move into the Shangra La apartments had one flaw. The minute they introduced the idea that the last guy killed himself in there, I figured even Frasier would find that too morbid… but apparently everyone was cool with Nile’s living there. I would be out of there. The rest of the episode was funny, but I couldn’t get past that.

You know what I needed from this episode? When Sam went to visit her podcast producer (Michael Boatman), I was so confused. I think identifying the other voice in the room as a ghost would have helped. I figured it out eventually, but I thought about it for far too long.

I’m really enjoying Delroy Lindo in this series, even more than Kerry Washington, who is clearly the lead. Lindo is such a classic actor that his performances are now seemingly effortless. He’s great in this. And, he’s worth rooting for, which is important to this plot.

2) Cheers (Paramount Plus)

This is the highest a rerun has been on my list in a long time. But this episode of Cheers, where Diane has a classmate help her observe the denizens of the bar in an effort to test her theory on paranoia, only to have the tables turned on her when she becomes increasingly paranoid waiting for them to get back at her, is just a great freaking episode. So well done, and Shelly Long sold the hell out of this episode.

I know what next week will have in store for me. And my heart will break. But what a great episode for Logan, who really infused life into every moment, whether it was influencing Tom’s decision without actually influencing it, or actually being a straight shooter with his kids, Logan had a great episode. Brian Cox is a fantastic actor.
