Two contestants head home tonight. The Swon Brothers- Turn The Page by Bob Seger Really, a pretty solid country/rock performance. That was an interesting episode. Three people really fought to stay in the competition, and Team Blake suffered from really uninteresting song choices. Holly Tucker- When God Fearing Women Get The Blues I suppose this is an OK song for her, but Holly never seems to connect with the lyrics. Vocally, its an OK song for her, but the lights are on and no one is home. Amber Carrington really does connect with all her lyrics, so its hard to imagine what that would be like with Holly. She’s continually the weakest ‘performer’, and she might be saying goodbye this … Continue reading The Voice Top 6 Recap and Grades

#1- Judith Hill- That Power (by Will I Am) Judith Hill performing a Will I Am song is like her throwing the white flag into the air and saying “I’m sorry! I’ll do a current song!”. The problem is that Will I Am songs are written for his limited vocal range, and not for someone who is a powerhouse singer like Judith. The song seems really easy to sing, despite what Judith brings to the table. She sings a lot on the same note in sections, because Will I Am is not really a singer. I don’t know why Judith … Continue reading The Voice 4- Top 8 Performance Grades
