Apple better be continuing on with For All Mankind. That season finale was a beast, and did exactly what I thought it would. Because the show takes these leaps forward in time, original cast members have to keep being shaved off because there’s only just so much you can age a person. Just like how last season ended with a few original cast members exiting, it’s highly likely that the way certain characters are written, means the end for them on the show (at least as regulars). However, there was one prominent character whose future was not shown, and that … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries- 01/12/24

Really, it’s the doldrums of TV news right now. Even in the world of movie news, the best I got is that I just learned there was a movie in theatres called Anyone But You that stars Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney. Talk about the wrong time of year to open a film like that. Wow. Getting clobbered by films with big budgets and Oscar fare, with two people who really aren’t marketable romcom stars. 1) Everything Now (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Clashes begin in the friend zone when people seem at odds with each … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/27/23

Christmas is almost upon us. Yet, Peacock is holding their premiere of the Focus features Holiday Oscar contender, The Holdovers, until Dec 29th. What’s so weird, is that The Last Voyage Of The Demeter still hasn’t found its way, and neither has Oppenheimer. Barbie is on MAX, when is Oppenheimer coming to Peacock? 1) Sex Education (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Final Season The series finale. It was even super-sized so we could call it Sex Education” The Movie. They wanted to make sure all the characters who made it to this season got a conclusion, and I really … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/22/23

The cancellation sword is still swinging, as AMC inexplicably cancelled Lucky Hank after one season, and ABC is slowly purging Seattle Grace, with the announcement that Season 7 is the final season of Station 19. So, not a great news day for TV fans. Also, RIP to Ryan O’Neal, who was a fantastic actor (watch Paper moon), and a sexy 70’s icon. 1) Beckham (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited We look at Beckham growing as a parent, and also making a tough choice to move to Spain from England to play ball. Rumor has it that the team behind the new Scott Pilgrim show on Netflix have no plans to do a second season. Just an FYI for fans. Then again, the Strangers Things guys were only going to make 4 seasons, and they made more. So, peoples minds can be changed. And we’re probably getting a third season of Big little Lies. 1) Goosebumps (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed In what is likely the penultimate episode, a nod to the Give Yourself Goosebumps books, the kids are trapped in the Biddle house as Biddle is after … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/25/23

Did you watch any programming themed for Veteran’s Day yesterday? Or, were you like me, just catching up? 11) Hey Dude (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: no Status: Ended A cringeworthy episode where Ted is tasked with monitoring water usage, and asks his Native American friend Danny if he can do a rain dance. When Danny says he doesn’t know how, Ted says it’s easy and just does one. Later, this 80’s kids comedy does make a point of mentioning that this is offensive, but it also spends more time invested on Danny trying to figure out how to do … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/11/23

The Marvels box office is not just reflective of Marvel fatigue, but also the impact of the strike. Two of the films lead characters are being played by rising stars from Disney plus shows, and were unable to promote the film. Disney should have pushed this back, and now they have their lowest opening ever. 9) Name That Tune (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Unknown honestly, just the most underwhelming episode. Jeff Ross knew all the songs until he got to the final, and then Tig knew all the songs, yet somehow Nicole ended up in the finale. Baffling. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/10/23

The writers struck for minimums in writers rooms, and I guess The CW’s All American Homecoming and Superman and Lois had rooms above the new increased minimum, so they are firing some to reduce costs and shrinking the writers rooms. Let’s be honest, The CW is on life support in its current state. 9) Justified (Hulu) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I gotta give Raylon’s dad props. When i first met Arlo in Season 1, I never expected to see him still kicking around in Season 4, but here he is. Mainly, people still want to take down Boyd, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/27/23

The TV news cycle is really slow right now. The WGA met, and were made a counter offer that they are taking a look at. Sadly, they did not release the counter offer to the press. It’s possible that they believe there’s actually something to work with here. 13) Hey Dude (Paramount Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended It’s boys vs girls at the ranch, in an anything you can do I can do better storyline. It’s also Danny’s birthday. And this show has no audio description. Even though I watched this back when I was six or seven, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/11/23
