The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

I actually finished a lot of shows this week, which should free up a ton of space and shake up the list next week. Joining the list this week are Dexter Resurrection (Paramount Plus), Building The Band (Netflix), Back To The Frontier (HBo MAX), Foundation (Apple Plus), Sullivan’s Crossing (Netflix), and The Art detectives (Acorn). Also, I took a look at A Different World (Netflix) which has audio description! WINNER: Squid Game (Netflix) with audio description- I’m not quite done with the final season, and I’ve basically lost all the new characters I was rooting for, yet something about this … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

The Small Screen Diaries: 07/11/25

TV News: there’s been enough movement the past couple of days for me to recap some of the decisions. Netflix gave Virgin River an early Season 8 renewal, as Season 7 concludes filming. Apple also did the same for Slow Horses, which got a Season 7 renewal, even though Season 6 has yet to premiere. Apple also picked up the new Sci-Fi series MurderBot for a second season. ABC has gone straight to series on the Scrubs revival after Donald Faison and Sarah Chalke solidified deals to return to the series, which could land as early as mid season. In … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 07/11/25

The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

Once again I’m running down the sixty shows on my broad watchlist. Joining the list this week, which was fairly slow for new shows, are The Sandman (Netflix), All Of Us Are Dead (Netflix), The Office (Peacock), Such Brave Girls (Hulu), Nautilus (AMC Plus), Dexter (Paramount Plus), and Prison Break (Netflix). I wrapped some shows, and anything that would rank outside the top 60 dies. WINNER: Squid Game (Netflix) with audio description- I knew I was going to lose my favorites. After the tragic uprising didn’t work last season, it meant playing out Squid Game till the end. I’m only … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: The Weekly Rankings

A Good Person

Where I Watched It: MGM Plus English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe Narrated by: Leslie S. There’s a good film buried in A Good Person, which is the latest effort from Zach Braff. I was able to see that thanks to MGM Plus starting to offer a limited amount of titles with audio description. It’s always nice to see another streaming service move into the audio description community. A Good Person revolves around a young woman (Florence Pugh), whose life is thrown into total hell after a car accident that kills her best friend and her best friend’s fiancé. A … Continue reading A Good Person

Moonshot

Directed By: Christopher Winterbauer Where I Watched It: HBO MAX English Audio Description Available: Yes Narrated By: Nicole Zanzarella Description Provided By Deluxe The Plot: In what I can only assume is the sequel to moon fall, Walt (Sprouts) is an insufferably average doofus who lives in a time when Mars has been colonized, and the only people who get to go are either rich, or worthy, neither of which apply to him. This doesn’t stop him from applying 37 times to go to Mars. One night at a party, he meets … Continue reading Moonshot

Directed By: Gail Lerner Where I Watched It: Disney Plus English Audio Description Available?: Yes Narration By: Nigel Mojica Description provided By: Descriptive Video Works The Plot: The Bakers this time have taken their name literally, and they now run a Breakfast restaurant where dad (Braff) is the Breakfast King, and mom (Union) is supporting with her marketing degree. And that “dozen” includes animals, so there are less kids in this version. Among many other changes. What Works: First, i love Gabrielle Union in this. After Home Sweet Home … Continue reading Cheaper By The Dozen (2022)
