Daringly Early Oscar Predictions

Since other outlets have started making their daringly early Oscar predictions, I figured I’d weigh in on who I actually think will be called as nominees come January.

BEST PICTURE:
1) Spotlight
2) The Revenant
3) The Martian
4) Bridge Of Spies
5) Room
6) Inside Out
7) Joy
8) Carol
9) The Hateful Eight

Possible Wild Card: Star Wars Episode 7
Yes, I think Steve Jobs will probably be forgotten about, as will Straight Outta Compton. Compton might seem too mainstream, and also came out in August. Jobs came out in October, and the wide release wasn’t nearly as successful as The Martian or Bridge Of Spies. Inside Out was just such a huge film, it’s hard to forget it. If JJ’s Star Wars is really of a high caliber, it might sneak into the Best Picture race. Maybe. It has to be really REALLY good though.
