Ten shows enter the Thunderdome. One will prevail.
10) Guillermo Del Toro’s Bullshit
English Audio Description?: Yes
Earlier on in the series I was making excuses for this. It’s a horror series. It’s supposed to be fucked up. But the acting is pretty awful across the board, which there is no excuse. Mia Goth is out there getting awards for pearl. you can act and be in a horror film. But, I suppose at least thank god there wasn’t a decapitated child’s head baking in an oven…

9) Inside Man (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
The second episode gives David Tennat a bit more time to explore his character, but that conversation where the women come to visit Tucci in prison because he has some renowned special set of skills… was so dumb. “Where is my husband? How did he leave?” ”Those are two very different questions.” And then he just gives some sort of metaphysical response, akin to where is anybody really? Then the women solve the answer on their own without him actually doing anything. Never mind. I gave this a second episode. I’m out. And I think so is Tucci if I understood that final scene.

8) George and Tammy (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: No
It’s the acting that kept me engaged because this show needs audio description. now, I’m in that weird place where do I keep watching? I gave American Gigolo two episodes, I’m still watching let The Right One in. And Michael Shannon and Jessica Chastain are worth a second episode, but this was a little like banging my head into a wall. Surprisingly, this is not dialogue heavy. The singing is fine, but it’s a rather quiet show all things considered.

7) Emily In Paris (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I’m at this point whee I need Emily to understand Sylvia doesn’t like her, or I need Sylvia to like Emily. Not just use Emily, but actually realize she has value. On a side note, I always appreciate audio description, but narrating Shallow made me laugh. Yes, it’s in another language, but in a Venn diagram of Emily In Paris watchers who have never heard Shallow before… is that one person? One guy somewhere? Good stuff though.

6) The Crown (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
The Crown continues with it’s most aggressively average season as we focus on Martin Bashir and his interview with Diana. That’s the whole episode. It’s like they wanted an entire season with Diana alive, and they are trying so hard to find ways to make that happen. Last week’s Romanov episode was a great example of stalling.

5) Leopard Skin (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I love how odd this show is, and the flashbacks. It’s unlike anything else I’m watching, or have watched. Not my favorite series, but I love it for originality. This episode was a little trippy, Episode 4 I believe.
Episode Grade: B+
4) Avenue 5 (HBo MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Now there are two ships, and chaos still ensues. Hugh Laurie and Josh Gad are still hilarious.
Episode Grade: B+
3) East New York (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I’m a week behind, so this was the episode where they picked up from the shooting of one of their own. It was an emotional rollercoaster to be sure. Those final moments were tense, with the cop’s partner having the opportunity to put down an attempted cop killer. This show is much better than i ever though it would be.

2) Fleischman Is in Trouble (Hulu)E
English Audio Description?: No
We got a flashback to how the broken up couple ever came to be in the first place, and Claire Danes is so unlikable from this perspective. It’s weird to see a show that has you not rooting for the woman in a split. It’s almost always the guy who sucks the most.

1) The last Of Us (HBo MAX)E
mEnglish Audio Description?: Yes
Watch it. If you are missing the Walking Dead, or ever liked that show, this is for you. I did a longer review on my YouTube channel, but this is me confirming, this is the moment.
