7) Perry Mason (HBo MAX)

It’s like the show I want to like, but just can’t sometimes. Sometimes, it’s just so slow, or it has filled itself with a lot of character building that has nothing to do with the actual case, but helps flesh out the series regulars. It just ends up boring me and challenging my patience and ability to stay awake.

6) The Masked Singer (FOX)

What a weird theme night. The magic of 100 years of Warner Bros, but being celebrated on FOX? Why? And instead of making everyone sing something truly original and iconic from the WB film lot, we really only got over The Rainbow, and two songs that would be famous regardless.Just a very weird theme night.

5) Night Court (Peacock)

This cast is trying to accomplish a lot. This had a podcaster trying to uncover the past and we ended up with a rather predictable but hilarious sequence of walking through a radioactive metal detector, and a line that actually made me chuckle out loud. It’s not the most consistent show on TV, but it can be occasionally funny.

4) American Idol (Hulu)

Duets! AKA: My dad was in a band that made the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and what I learned from him was to quit when things get tough. You know, if that girl had pushed through while being sick, the judges would have taken pity on her and moved her forward. She quit because she is a quitter. I don’t know why that’s a thing this season.

3) The Daily Show (Comedy)

After weeks of major guest hosts, now the correspondents are getting their shot behind the desk. I enjoyed Roy Wood Jr, and he’s really comfortable behind the desk. While I suspect he might be the front runner here, I think it’s time this show, which has had three permanent male hosts, finds its first female host. And I don’t know why Samantha Bee isn’t being considered.

2) Abbott Elementary (ABC/Hulu)

I’m actually not enjoying the Gregory/Janeane storyline that much. But, that never stops the show from being funny. Ava has convinced me that as long as she’s there, everything will be OK.

1) poker Face (Peacock)

An episode that tried to kill off Charlie, when I knew there was still one episode left in the season, plus the second season that has already been ordered didn’t have quite the suspense you would think. However, I don’t know why they seem dead set on dragging her back to Vegas. I also don’t know how that hitman figured out where she was, even though she was pronounced dead all over the news. Like…that’s a huge leap. I probably won’t like the finale, but this episode was nuts, and had a really nice twist there near the end.
