It’s too close to Christmas for any good TV news.

1) Scott Pilgrim Takes off (Netflix)

The creators of this show have already said they have no plans for a second season, but this basically is a remake of the film, just done in a different style. I really liked it, and I was happy to hear many of the original voice cast. It has such a strong anime flavor to it, it feels very different from the film. And, it will run longer than the movie, giving us more time to explore these characters.

2) The Curse (Paramount Plus)

Emma Stone plays the better half of a couple that is trying to revitalize a town in a HGTV-ish show, but this show shows all the self serving ways they are making this happen. Benny Saftee is really good here as well, and kudos to the audio description team here for making sure we know exactly how long his penis is. Not that I was impressed with the directorial choice to show him urinating, as it has no relevance to anything, and the series could have advanced totally without it, but it’s backed by A24, so it’s going to be weird. I’m not fully immersed yet. I really want to see this so-called Curse play out.

3) A Murder At The End Of The World (Hulu)

Emma Corrine leads a terrific ensemble cast as an amateur sleuth and novelist, and also coder who is invited to a posh getaway with her idol, only for her past to haunt her, and her be thrust into a murder mystery. The first episode is almost feature length, so allow the time. It was 1:18 I believe, so keep that in mind. Other than I felt like i was in the longest TV episode ever, it was terrific, and I’m very intrigued. It also has a lot of advanced technology in it, which makes it even more fun. I think this is going to be one of the years best limited offerings.

4) Colin From Accounts (Paramount Plus)

So, this is an Aussie import, and I hope you got what I was doing there with the audio description. i just really wanted to take a moment to highlight that we might be truly getting the original audio description. However, i was surprised to find out this show wasn’t about what I thought it would be. So, I’m keeping my mouth shut. Just watch it. It’s funny. Make a prediction as to who or what Colin from Accounts is and see if you’re right before you watch it. You probably won’t be.

5) iZombie (Netflix)

Status: Ended

Another mystery to solve. Literally, took me this long to get to the second episode of the series. At this rate, of one a month, I’ll finish the series… when netflix is dead. lol. But, it could use audio description, so sadly, despite having 4 winners already, I can’t grade this.
