Black Mirror- The USS Callister episode. I’ve heard so much about this, and it was the first episode to get a sequel. It’s a bit silly. The idea that they would retain their memories, when he’s basically just doing a DNA swab. He’s also not doing a great job of preserving the integrity of the DNA, and it’s possible other DNA could get mixed in anyway. But if you just take the leap, the episode is fun. There’s interesting ideas here about the future of technology, as there always is with Black Mirror, and some solid performances. The audio description was great, as I never felt lost or like i didn’t understand what was happening.
The Hunting Wives- This has to be everyone’s new favorite guilty pleasure. This show is so soapy, so slutty, so over the top at times it’s truly impossible to not love it. It is the hottest of hot messes, and it is horny as hell. I also love this audio description.
Dexter Resurrection- Peter Dinklage! what a pleasant surprise. But, yes, this was a fun little episode as Dexter just completely gives up on the entire concept for his series and befriends a bunch of serial killers. I’m hoping they turn this around, because this is a 180 that will likely divide fans. But, peter Dinklage! But, it is shitty writing. He talks like he’s never had a serial killer to talk to, yet he certainly spent some time talking with a few in the original series. He just lived by a code… that doesn’t exist anymore?
Leanne- I’m trying to blow past the halfway mark so I can quit it and review it. I’m not a fan.
King Of The Hill- A no audio description episode, but Hank’s world is rocked by snow, and the revelation that his boss uses electricity instead of natural gas.
Last week tonight- perfect. Change nothing. Even the last part aimed at Chuck Schumer. I think the right is under some sort of understanding that the left never makes fun of or calls out their own. Basically, John Oliver spent about ten minutes talking about how troubling it is for Chuck to continue to have imaginary friends.
The gilded Age- It’s done. I didn’t pay attention. I fell asleep for part of it. God speed those who worked on the audio description. Can’t wait to nap through season 4.
