TV Shows Watched: Outlander: Blood of My Blood- S1E8 (Starz) no audio description, Black Rabbit: S1E2 (Netflix) with audio description, Dexter: S6E3 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, next Gen chef: S1E2 (Netflix) with audio description, and Pop Culture Jeopardy: The Neverending Story (Amazon) with audio description
Outlander: blood Of My Blood- I think I’ve finally settled on Rotten. As we near the finale, I’m missing too much. I can follow the cliff notes version of the cliff notes for the show, but most of the time there are characters I don’t remember, have no idea what their name is, where I last saw them, or what the hell is going on. this virginity test centric episode seemed to suggest some really odd tools were being used (I heard the sharpening of a blade), but I can’t be sure, because Starz is deeply committed to their lack of accessibility for blind and low vision users. Audio Description. Why is this so hard of a concept?
Black Rabbit- Meanwhile, Jason Bateman and Jude Law barrel toward what is surely going to be a show where they lose everything. Props to finding work for Troy, and giving us a crime boss who is deaf, but also still a badass. Representation. It matters.
Dexter- Is this the season where Dexter takes on Jigsaw? the end of the episode featured dexter and the squad nearly walking into a booby trap which is designed to kill… and set free locusts? I’m intrigued. Dexter Vs Jigsaw would actually be a fun crossover.
Next Gen Chef- Netflix continues on with their hopeful Top Chef knockoff. But, there can be only one. I’ve loved top Chef since the beginning. I’ve dabbled in Hell’s Kitchen, Masterchef, yes Chef, and even bravo’s own Top chef Masters, but every time, it doesn’t beat Top Chef. Next Gen Chef is trying so hard to be something we already have, it isn’t trying to be its own thing. They are young chefs, which I guess makes them Next Gen, but so would another season of Masterchef Jr. Find your own path.
Pop Culture Jeopardy- I’m being told I have only one more quarter final left, then onto whatever the next round is. I know I’m somewhere in the 30’s, but this has been a staple in my weekly diet now for over 30 weeks. the gift that keeps giving if you don’t binge it.
