TV Shows Watched: Daredevil: Born Again: S2E7 (Disney Plus) with audio description, the Testaments: S1E6 (Disney plus) with audio description, Tomb Raider: S2E? (Netflix) with audio description, Bait: s1E2 (Amazon) with audio description, DTF: St Louis: S1E6 (HBO MAX) with audio description, and virgin River: S7e2 (Netflix) with audio description
Daredevil: Born Again- The audio description here is still solid as Matt works to try and find a way to free Karen, realizing Kingpin is forcing another vigilante trial. He’ll have to use another particular set of skills. Jessica Jones resurfaces because Disney paid her, and they might need her in the future, and Bullseye might turn into an ally for Daredevil as Matt needs him for a specific task. Meanwhile, a series regular bites the dust. we also get more history behind Mr Charles, and Luke Cage gets a name drop, as does The Punisher.
The Testaments- While the girls are shown a bit, each slightly advancing their story, this is Lydia’s episode, as the Aunt narrates mostly a flashback, showing who she was before, what the culling was like, and how she became the most powerful woman, shaping her own reality. I just now learned the Aunts wear brown garments in a scene where Lydia is picking out her fabric for Aunt outfits.
Tomb Raider- Still needing to finish this. It is a well made show, with nice audio description, and action packed like Splinter Cell was. Sadly, Netflix axed this show.
Bait- Patrick Stewart guest stars, or his voice does, as our main guy has anxiety over being in the running to play James Bond. A weird little comedy, but Riz Ahmed makes it work.
DTF St Louis- I have fleeting moments where I like the show, and others where I want to be momma being thrown from the train. Some of the dialogue is so awkward, and Jason Bateman makes it more so. If he gets nominated for this and not Black Rabbit, I’m rioting. The AD here is the best, most consistent thing about the series.
Virgin River- For reasons unknown, Doc is still being investigated we find out Muriel has a secret, Jack spends time with new cast members, and the episode ends with Charmaine calling Bri for help. Always lovely audio description. Why this hasn’t won 874 Emmys is a mystery. It is just… something. it is something that is for sure.
