TV Shows Watched: The Agency: S2E6-10 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, Pop Culture Jeopardy: S2E15 (Netflix) with audio description, Elzabeth: S3E19 (Paramount) with audio description, and Hacks: S5E8 (HBO MAX) with audio description

The Agency- So weird no one is credited for the AD on this. I have listened all the way to the end, and while I think I recognize the voice, and assume it would be Media Access Group since they do every other Taylor Sheridan production, I’m not sold. I did a full review of this though, so check it out.

Pop Culture Jeopardy- The final regular episode before the semi-finals. i did pretty well, and nailed that final Jeopardy question, as did two of the three remaining. Again, more solid audio description for this format.

Elzabeth- Our intrepid know-it-all manages to figure out the Gossip columnist did it. You can’t outsmart Elzabeth, but I would really love for her to gain a Moriarty type, like what they tried to do with Michael Emerson, but just not give them a position of power. Someone we know is guilty, Elzabeth knows, but somehow they get away with it, only to come back around, and around.

Hacks- Deborah gets stuck in a box, while Jimmy has the saddest ending to an episode thus far. I felt so bad for Jimmy. I’m hoping they turn it around. Kayla is always great, and her throwaway line about how her Nanny shockingly moved out on the same day as her High School Graduation was perfect. This is an excellent series. Something I realized here, is that our narrator sounds a lot like Jimmy. It’s not, but imagine if Paul W Downs had known enough about audio description that he created it himself from the beginning so it was always packaged in. It made me think of that, as I heard the similarities in the voices.

There are no worsts, so I’ll instead do:

Winner: Elzabeth- Attention to detail wins here.

Loser- The Agency- Credit your shit. I’ve been told it is out of AD studios hands, but I need some actual receipts that tell me that uncharacteristically Paramount all of a sudden drew the line at this one show, when the rest of their shows have credit, most from Media Access, but a few from DVW and IDC. Paramount is quite generous in allowing companies, at minimum, to be credited. If you can’t at least get your company attached, I assume you aren’t happy with your own product, and do not wish to be associated with it. No Alan Smithee’s in the AD world, please.
