Frankenstein (2025)

Sometimes the interesting thing about film is watching the growth of an auteur. Depending on when you were born, you might have gotten to see the rise of certain artists honing their craft, but the exciting part is that first film, and feeling like you just witnessed the birth of something. I’d consider myself a big fan of Del toro, who even when he doesn’t top himself as a director, certainly is never boring. he has such a love for film, and for the celebration of monsters, that it really does carry through all the themes. Even his stop-motion animated … Continue reading Frankenstein (2025)

It looks like also that the show Good Trouble has come to an end. I saw some cast reactions. And, Golden Globe nominations are announced tomorrow morning I do believe. It should be more interesting now that the awards are owned by a different body, and categories were expanded. 1) Sex Education (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Final Season Maeve’s Mom’s funeral day is punctuated by other events, including her strained relationship with Otis, who is also having a strained relationship with Eric, who may or may not be communicating with God. Also, Ruby has had about enough of … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/09/23

While it does seem like SAG is taking this latest offer seriously, they do have some things to iron out, and they’re planning another meeting. Meanwhile, it took until November for Hulu to renew The Bear. Why? Are they that hard up? The series is projected to win Emmy’s this year for the streamer. They literally can’t afford to lose the show, not with Handmaid’s Tale going into its final season. Their only other prestige show would be Only Murders In The Building. 10) How To Become A Cult Leader (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited In the fifth … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/06/23

Well, the shoe dropped. ABC officially cancelled Home Economics. It’s an odd decision, considering everything I’ve read suggests that sitcoms are the quickest thing to get back on the air. But, I guess ABC doesn’t feel like it had a place for it.Still to be determined: the fate of The Rookie” Feds. 11) Dinosaurs (Disney Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I’m going to pull the trigger finally here and say this show needs audio description. I’ve been letting it off the hook, but this multi-part storyline about war really highlights the need for audio description. I’ve been able … Continue reading The Too Much TV roundup- 09/29/23

I shall predict that the whole thing we aren’t liking about how streaming services are pulling content will be far more common place after the strike is settled, and some of those shows they have to start paying residuals on. So take this strike, and if there is a relatively obscure series on a streaming service right now that you have not seen yet… watch the hell out of it. It likely will get purged. Honestly, I never thought HBo would purge Westworld, so all bets are off. 11) Dark Winds (AMC Plus) English Audio Description?: No Status: not Yet … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 08/08/23

RIP Paul Reubens. Such an unexpected blow. For a lot of people my age, he really helped to shape our childhoods. His Playhouse was a magnificent ball of fun, and his movies certainly were head scratchers for critics, but not kids. Thanks for the laughs, pee Wee. you certainly had an awfully big adventure. 13) FUBAR (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Renewed I’m not sure all the ideas are still working. Between a breakup, and then also being spurned by Alden, things aren’t looking up for one member who also ends the episode in a precarious position. Meanwhile, Arnie … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/31/23

After a day of some interesting news, the best thing I’ve got for you this morning is that hulu has cancelled Up Here after 1 season. I didn’t even finish that show, so no love lost here. 12) Mulligan (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not yet Renewed When trying to figure out who lands on the bottom, every once in a while I run into the problem of watching too much TV, and not really remembering something. All i remember was Tina Fey’s character yelling at someone to be a dumbass, and the Senator character joking about how Spanish … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 07/28/23
