Heretic

Heretic- Could Hugh Grant Get An Oscar Nomination For This? Quick Take: this is the year of horror. Normally, horror movies don’t get their day in the awards sun, but several films have popped up various places, from a surprising Best Actress nomination for Smile 2 at the Astro awards, to the strong showing for horror-adjacent films like Love Lies bleeding and I Saw The tV Glow, to even recognition for performances in movies like Cuckoo. The International Oscar race even had a few titles that were being submitted by IFC/Shudder, including The Devil’s Bath. The film with the most … Continue reading Heretic

Unfrosted

Some years ago, admittedly a little hard to remember since I’m not sure the film ever got a real theatrical release, a film called Food Fight existed, and used a lot of these mascot type characters. I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews of Unfrosted, and my sentence as a film judge is that all critics who thought this was bad need to also see Food Fight, because this kinda thing can be a lot worse. Dungeons And Dragons: honor Among Thieves

Where I Watched it: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: Yes I think we should wait for Jonathan. Well, I hope we can all agree this is better than the last big screen attempt at a Dungeons and Dragons movie. I say this with the knowledge that I’m not a D&D fan, so I’m not sure how those dice rollers feel about this comic take on their game. but, it reminds me of the last cinematic attempt at power Rangers. Way better than anyone thought it would be, yet still somehow never got a sequel. The whole cast is entertaining, but … Continue reading Dungeons And Dragons: honor Among Thieves

Cloud Atlas

Starring: Tom Hanks, Halle Berry, Hugh Grant, Jim Broadbent, James D’Arcy, Susan Sarandon, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess Directed By: The Wachowski Where I Watched It: Netflix (though this was not my first time) English Audio Description Available?: Hell Yes. Plot: People. Over time. Stories. Intertwined. I’ve now seen this film twice, and trying to describe it seems still like a monumental task. The film stretches over thousands of years, imagining actors almost as reincarnations of themselves across time in completely different circumstances and explores deep themes like human connection and fate. What Works: Well, for the sighted, I do remember … Continue reading Cloud Atlas
