Remember, we are just a few days away from SAG-AFTRA going on strike. There are people currently still working, and those people would stop. I can’t think of that many things that wouldn’t be in reruns. Take The View for example. Whoopi is definitely a SAG member. They’ve dodged the WGAA strike, but they wouldn’t be able to dodge this one. Sex Education is ending with Season 4. I’m OK with that. It’s a show about High Schoolers. one of their main cast is now Doctor Who. And, several key cast aren’t coming back for the final season. Well, started off my morning with shitty news. Apple Plus has cancelled high Desert. honestly, I understand it. The pilot was off putting initially, but once you get past it, Patricia Arquette is doing a hell of a job keeping this thing together. And, Matt Dillon and Brad Garrett do a pretty decent job supporting her. I would have probably renewed this, and I’m sad to see this character go, but Apple released a lot of comedies in the Spring, and right after this was Platonic, which is a better show and really deserves a second season. Before my TV news, I have to say that I always enjoy looking at the list of who has just been offered an Academy voting membership each year. To me, there’s always some hilarious comparison of someone who is obviously getting it really early, versus someone who has somehow flown under the water. You would think that considering neither of these actors were nominated last year that Bill Hader and Raul Castillo, for example, would not be getting offered membership in the same year. I happened to stumble on a show I’ve been checking semi-frequently on audio description, and I found out that Yellowjackets (Season 1) now has AD. this was a show I had started, but didn’t finish. I’m starting over on it.
