The Small Screen Diaries: 09/22/25

TV Shows Watched: Gen V: S2E3 (Amazon) with audio description, Task: S1E3 (HBO MAX) with audio description, Ginny and Georgia: S3E4 (Netflix) with audio description, and Twisted Metal: S2E9 (Peacock) with audio description Gen V- Since I know narrators don’t always get to see what they are describing, I find it funny thinking about a narrator just sitting in their recording studio, preparing to read a line, and they see that they have to describe a head coming out of a butt. Thanks to shows like Gen V and The Boys, we’re breaking new grounds constantly on “how do we … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 09/22/25

The Small Screen Diaries: 09/15/25

TV Shows Watched: Task: S1E2 (HBO MAX) with audio description, Platonic: S2E7 (Apple Plus) with audio description, The Runarounds: S1E3 (Amazon) with audio description, Twisted Metal: S2E8 (Peacock) with audio description, and Ginny and Georgia: S3E3 (Netflix) with audio description Task- What to do with Sam? That’s the big question driving the second episode of Task. This remains an ensemble piece, despite the presence of Mark Ruffalo in the lead role, and is slowly building out this crime drama. we learn more about the thieves from the last episode, as well as the “community” they stole from. Solid audio description … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 09/15/25

The Small Screen Diaries: 09/11/25

TV Shows Watched: Daryl Dixon: S3E1 (AMC Plus) no audio description, The Buccaneers: S2E8 (Apple Plus) with audio description, Sausage Party: Foodtopia: S2E5 (Amazon) with audio description, Ginny and Georgia: S3E2 (Netflix) with audio description, Task: S1E1 (HBO MAX) with audio description, and Hostage: S1E5 (Netflix) with audio description Daryl Dixon- I went through literal unnecessary skullduggery to watch this. I should have had access to this on Sunday, as part of my AMC Plus subscription through my Prime channel add on, like every other Walking Dead spinoff. Instead, it wasn’t there. Going back and forth with AMC and Amazon, … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 09/11/25

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: 20th Anniversary

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: 20th Anniversary- Still An Unforgettable Masterpiece Quick Take: We live in a wonderful time where studios like A24 and Neon are boosting interesting filmmakers, and challenging wide audiences to like films not initially thought to be mainstream. That’s how we get something like Everything Everywhere All At once. But, how is it that in this great age, with the rise of filmmakers like Ari Aster and Robert Eggers, that Michel Gondry is nowhere to be found? I realized, after enjoying Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind for the umpteenth time, that Gondry was a … Continue reading Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind: 20th Anniversary

Movies With pride: The Normal Heart

I believe fairly recently, I mentioned to someone why I was taking the opportunity to celebrate Movies With Pride in the month of June. I’m a blind film critic, and my driving force in life is to change the perspective on how blind and low vision people do actually enjoy films, and that there’s just this massive problem in terms of getting the accessibility we need on a consistent basis. This month, I made it a point to track down some titles I hadn’t yet reviewed, at least from my blind perspective that highlight the LGBTQ community in impactful ways. … Continue reading Movies With pride: The Normal Heart

Poor Things

To put it mildly, this is the performance of Emma Stone’s career. I actually think she transcends this film. poor Things is a wild and crazy ride, one that absolutely needs audio description if you are blind or visually impaired. this feels like a visual stunner, something you feel through the outstanding audio description this track does really well. I actually bought a digital copy of this, but it is also currently available on Hulu. Emma Stone plays Bella Baxter, a woman who we see commits suicide at the top of the film. However, her body is still pretty undamaged, … Continue reading Poor Things

The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/21/23

Well, I said, and I’ll say it again, the post-strike cancellation wave is still bashing us. It likely will take a break for Turkey Day, but not before Disney Plus could axe The Muppets Mayhem. In fact, on the film side, rumor has it that they are trying to sell off The Bike Riders. Not sure why, as that played fairly well at the festivals, but whatever. in other cancellation news, Melissa Barrera was fired from the new Scream 7 for having the audacity to tweet. No apologies required, the Scream franchise has so many surviving characters alive right now, … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/21/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/07/23 Dancing last night. Also, I hear we are shockingly close to a SAG deal as the studios have apparently given up on their AI battle.

11) Seaquest DSV (Peacock) English Audio Description?: No Status: Ended I think I’ve given a few episodes a pass, as it is a bit easier being on a rewatch. but this episode focused quite a bit on a ghost ship, a diary, and possession? I’ll admit, when you throw ghosts and what I can assume was possession in the mix, it goes a little past being easy to just follow along. Episode Grade: unwatchable 10) 911 (Hulu) English Audio Description?: no Status: Moving To ABC Athena is on the hunt for who killed a neighbor that everyone hated, while her … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/07/23 Dancing last night. The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/02/23

Nothing too big in the TV world. The CW confirmed what we already assumed, that this is the final season of The CW… I mean… Superman and Lois. It marks the final show to be cancelled in the once dominant DC Arrowverse that started with the Stephen Amell led series, and birthed spinoffs The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Superman and Lois, and arguably also Stargirl and Swamp Thing, though those were originally created for DC’s streaming service. The new CW seems less interested in making their own programming, and instead repurposing Canadian, British, and Australian shows. 9) … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/02/23

The Too Much tV Roundup- August 18th

Five shows today. one of them is Marvel. Did it hit the top? 1) Solar Opposites (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Essentially, Solar Opposites has created this secondary universe within its own show that we care about in almost the same way Pinky and the Brain caught on as a spinoff from Anamaniacs. Here, I think spinning them off could be a mistake. Not knowing the ins and outs of all the characters within the wall really makes for this bizarrely entertaining side trip whenever the show decides to take it. Add to that, the Hululand references, which were all … Continue reading The Too Much tV Roundup- August 18th
