The other film I chose to watch for Valentine’s Day this year was sadly not audio described in the Apple Store sale. However, I’ve seen Fools Rush In a handful of times, and it is probably my favorite movie featuring Matthew Perry. The fact that I’m hearing that the SAG AMPTA negotiations are being held up over AI really tells me all I need to know about the studios positions. I do hope SAG does not waiver on their counter to many of the terrible ideas these studios were proposing, including owning an actors likeness in perpetuity, simply because they showed up as an extra for one day. Well, that was a lot faster the next time around. Friday The 13th was a very unlucky day for one show. Apple pulled the plug on The After Party after two seasons. I’m not really sure why. It always baffles me when a show I see having a strong social media presence among the people in my feed gets cancelled, because it seems so rare that they ever bother to post about shows. but, while the new season was running, I had friends who were really into it. SAG-AFTRA is now in the negotiation phase. My great hope for them is that they shut the AI shit down entirely. Well, the WGA has recommended that writers end the strike officially, so things will be written again. I don’t expect to see the fruition of this until next year, except in talk shows, but it happened. Also, I’m not ranking Dancing With The Stars, but I wish the show had audio description like NBC’s The Voice now does. The strike has been going on for a lot longer than the studios thought they would. That’s for sure. I haven’t seen another movie abandon ship from 2023 yet. I’ve been deep diving a bit more into the SAG-AFTRA talks and some of the stuff they’re requesting isn’t unreasonable. Actually, none of it is. Just take some of these CEO salaries, lower them, and you’ll have the money to pay for some of this stuff. Also, for the poor people without cable or Peacock, Yellowstone is coming to CBS in the fall since they are a little short on new programming. Add to that, the UK version of Ghosts, which I’m at least interested in checking out.

Yesterday, i did attend another panel at the American Council Of The Blind’s virtual conference, this one on TTS audio description. I still squeezed in a lot of shows, because it was shorter, and most of these are half hour shows. Also, in TV News!
