The Small Screen Diaries: 09/11/25

TV Shows Watched: Daryl Dixon: S3E1 (AMC Plus) no audio description, The Buccaneers: S2E8 (Apple Plus) with audio description, Sausage Party: Foodtopia: S2E5 (Amazon) with audio description, Ginny and Georgia: S3E2 (Netflix) with audio description, Task: S1E1 (HBO MAX) with audio description, and Hostage: S1E5 (Netflix) with audio description Daryl Dixon- I went through literal unnecessary skullduggery to watch this. I should have had access to this on Sunday, as part of my AMC Plus subscription through my Prime channel add on, like every other Walking Dead spinoff. Instead, it wasn’t there. Going back and forth with AMC and Amazon, … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 09/11/25

The Small Screen Diaries: 09/05/25

TV Shows Watched: The Buccaneers: S2E7 (Apple plus) with audio description, Wednesday: S2E6 (Netflix) with audio description, NCIS: Tony And Ziva: S1E1 (Paramount Plus) with audio description, Long Story Short: S1E4 (Netflix) with audio description, Sausage Party: S1E4 (Amazon) with audio description The Buccaneers- I definitely felt with the last episode that The Buccaneers had finally reached its true potential, and with this episode, all of the strong subject matter they have opened up until now is paying off. the season’s penultimate episode has Nan’s mother filing for divorce from her husband, and she has to have proof. Mind you, … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 09/05/25

TV Shows Watched: The Sandman: S2E12 (Netflix) with audio description, My Life With The Walter Boys: S1E1 (Netflix) with audio description, Sausage Party: Foodtopia: S2E3 (Amazon) with audio description, Upload: S4E1 (Amazon) with audio description, Mindhunter: S1E9 (Netflix) with audio description The Sandman- Now that I know, Episode 11 is actually the series finale, and this is just a one off bottle episode that uses this franchises version of Death… and lets her take a holiday. So, this is Death Takes A holiday, but in the way Neil Gaiman would do it. It was cute. Inconsequential, but cute. The audio … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 08/28/25

Shane really is trying to get back some of that “comedians can get away with anything” thing. It certainly isn’t ever high brow, but it can have a certain charm. … Continue reading The Small Screen Diaries: 08/15/25

Sacramento

Sacramento (2025)- Michael Angarano, Michael Cera, Kristen Stewart, Maya Erskine Opening this Friday in theatres is a real pain of a film. Sacramento, which has Michael Angarano with three hats as a star, writer, and director, is an indie comedy that feels a little like one of 2024’s best films. It isn’t that Jesse Eisenberg’s A real Pain has ownership on two close young men going on a journey together while the audience discovers how they are both wildly opposite and shockingly similar, its just that Eisenberg’s comedy did such a lovely job doing it. both features are short, and … Continue reading Sacramento

Christmas Eve At Miller’s Point

Christmas Eve In Miller’s Point- Feels Like If IFC Started Making Christmas Movies Quick Take: I’ve actually seen this movie twice. And I’m just now getting around to putting those thoughts here. Originally, I was given a screener that did not have audio description, and later, i watched it with audio description, because I’d rather put out a review reflecting the actual worth of a movie, and not the lack of accessibility for that film. this Christmas movie feels like the most indie Christmas film. There really isn’t a lead character, or even an obvious plot. It just is a … Continue reading Christmas Eve At Miller’s Point

Sausage Party: A Second Look

Yes, I’ve reviewed this film before. The great thing about maintaining a website this long is that someone can look back and see what I initially wrote about Sausage Party. with the release of the new Amazon series Sausage Party: Foodtopia, I took the advantage of Sausage party being on Netflix, with audio description, to watch and see how the audio description holds up and compares. Also, is this film still funny? I do want to type this part out. It’s important. This film stars the vocal talents of: Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera, Edward Norton, Salma … Continue reading Sausage Party: A Second Look

the Small Screen Diaries- 02/02/24

Today, I finally found out how Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Netflix) ended, and I’m not sure what a second season would look like. The adventure is always in getting Scott and Ramona together, so unless they keep telling alternate versions of that story, they’d likely be together in another season. So I fully support the creators intent of this being a limited series. Has Been Hotel (Amazon) crossed into trust building. The songs are silly. This is still a show I like but don’t love, though I give it props for being unlike anything else on the market, and also … Continue reading the Small Screen Diaries- 02/02/24

The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/21/23

Jake Johnson mentioned yesterday that he does not believe Starz will renew Minx. I’m telling you, it’s the only reason I haven’t cancelled yet. I’m living on a prayer. The good news is that they immediately cancelled and pulled Heels right after the finale, and cancelled shining Veil immediately, so the fact they are even thinking about minx means it has a shot. 1) Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (Netflix) English Audio Description Provided By: XTraX Status: Limited Well, the second episode is weird. Scott is *spoiler*, and the episode focuses almost entirely on the evil ex group and a power … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/21/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/17/23

It’s too close to Christmas for any good TV news. 1) Scott Pilgrim Takes off (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited The creators of this show have already said they have no plans for a second season, but this basically is a remake of the film, just done in a different style. I really liked it, and I was happy to hear many of the original voice cast. It has such a strong anime flavor to it, it feels very different from the film. And, it will run longer than the movie, giving us more time to explore these … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/17/23

Paws Of Fury: The Legend Of hank

Where I Watched It: Paramount Plus English Audio Description?: Yes This was a film I had no idea was even in the pipeline. Then, when it suddenly was released, theatrically, I started seeing the reviews. Some critics wondered why this wasn’t sent straight to Paramount Plus, but most understand that a theatrical run can elevate a product like this and keep it from feeling like a third rate film no one ever needed. And the truth is, we didn’t need this film. But, all things considered, it could have been much worse. Aside from the god awful title, this animated … Continue reading Paws Of Fury: The Legend Of hank
