Romancing The Stone: 40th Anniversary

Romancing The Stone: 40th Anniversary- Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny Devito Quick Take: If I had a bucket list of films I knew I needed to watch for whatever reason, I would have had this Robert Zemeckis flick on there. It has been on there for 40 years, and it took an anniversary release for me to get off my ass and finally knock this one out. I think every film critic who isn’t claiming Medicare still has films. There were just so many years of film before I was born, and then every year, more is created. Still, before … Continue reading Romancing The Stone: 40th Anniversary

War Of The Roses: 35th Anniversary

War Of The Roses: 35th Anniversary- Michael Douglas, Kathleen Turner, Danny Devito Quick Take: Both Romancing The Stone and War Of The roses hit anniversary years in 2024. The latter, directed by Danny Devito, is something I feel like I saw my mom watching once, tried about five minutes, and then it was over my head. As a kid, I really loved my kids centric fare, so I could have seen this anywhere from 1989-1993 and not understood or cared. Now, I see this as a nice reread for Michael Douglas and Kathleen turner. It isn’t the best. I think … Continue reading War Of The Roses: 35th Anniversary

America’s Burning

America’s Burning- Produced By Barry Levinson, Narrated By Michael Douglas Quick Take: Another screener afforded to me without audio description. However, this one becomes a bit of a challenge, as the time where you might add audio description has a built in narrator in the form of Michael Douglas. Douglas, who has teamed with Barry levinson as a producer, present a documentary that looks at the many things wrong with our country, and produces realistic options on how to change our bleak future. It would seem like a targeted hit job on either just Trump, or the right, but it … Continue reading America’s Burning

Ant Man and the Wasp: QuantumMania

where I Watched it: Disney Plus English Audio description? Provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Jedidiah Barton Marvel has been getting a little raked over the coals ever since we snapped back to reality. if you don’t move too far, you can find someone complaining about the state of Marvel films. is it a fair comparison? Debatable. I think two of my least favorite films have been released in the last few years, with Black Widow and Eternals being very underwhelming. The latter took an interesting villain in Taskmaster and somehow made them boring, but thought gender flipping them would make … Continue reading Ant Man and the Wasp: QuantumMania

Ant Man and the Wasp

Where I Watched It: Disney Plus English Audio Description Provided By: Deluxe No, we’re not at QuantumMania yet. I revisited the first two bug hero films to get my bearings before going full on QuantumMania. That task just seems so daunting. I’ve never experienced QuantumMania before, and I’m not sure what that will be like. In the second film, Scott is on home arrest, trying to pay his penance for the events of Civil War. Of course, soon enough, he has to rejoin with the rest of the Ant-Man family, and Hope, who is now the Wasp. There’s more backstory … Continue reading Ant Man and the Wasp

Ant Man

Where I Watched it: Disney Plus English Audio Description provided By: Deluxe Narrated By: Helen Vasee I feel pretty confident that a Marvel movie that opened in February and was not exactly welcomed with open arms should be dropping this month. We do have Memorial Day coming up, and Disney has both Avatar 2 and Ant Man 3. if neither of them drop, then Bob Iger sucks. That’s just the answer to that equation. Wakanda Forever dropped in November, and hit Disney plus right at the top of February. Ant Man is less fantastic, and we’re already at may 12th. … Continue reading Ant Man

Steven Soderbergh’s Behind The Candelabra logged 2.4 million viewers on Sunday, which is the highest viewership for an HBO original movie since 2004’s Something The Lord Made, which was seen by 2.6 million viewers.
