Napoleon

Two years ago, Ridley Scott released the underrated The Last Duel, which went on to be largely ignored coming out of the pandemic, but still has its fans. I was recently putting together material for my Best Of 2023 lists for this year, and I noticed that my 2021 Award for Best Director went to Ridley Scott for The Last Duel. So, when i say Napoleon is not his best, please understand this is a man who is a very undervalued titan in this industry. Ridley Scott, who has never won an Oscar, is back again this year with Napoleon, … Continue reading Napoleon

Matchstick Men

Where I Watched It?: Apple Plus English Audio Description?: No Excuse me for my tardiness. I do believe that Apple has moved on to a newer set of licensed titles. i noticed a while back that they were offering anywhere from 3-6 films made by other studios along with their subscription, and with this being the 20th anniversary of Matchstick Men, i figured I’d roll the dice. After all, i think this is a very underrated Ridley Scott film. yes, the least Ridley Scott film is actually a Ridley Scott film. The Best Of 2021

With the Oscar’s swiftly approaching, and my Oscar final predictions released yesterday, it’s finally time to discuss who i think actually should have been nominated in the major categories, and who I would vote to win. This list will be completely different than the Oscar list, because I am just myself, I have no guild or board of people to mess up my nomination process, and my awards mean nothing. No actor is sitting out there waiting with bated breath to see if they will be included on Mac The Movieguy’s Best of 2021. Which is great for me, because … Continue reading The Best Of 2021

When a man (Driver) meets a woman (Gaga) and falls in love with her, you would think that this story would be simple. Except the man is part of the Gucci family, and their fashion house is legend. Why God, Why? Ridley Scott confirms Blade Runner 2

In a shocking move, there will be a Blade Runner 2, and Ridley Scott is directing it. Michael Green, who just rewrote Robopocalypse, is set to write it. That cry you hear is the death of a thousand fanboys, who can’t imagine what a sequel to a movie that is over 30 years old will be like. Probably, awful. At least, I suppose, we should be thankful it isn’t a reboot starring Colin Farrell. Continue reading Why God, Why? Ridley Scott confirms Blade Runner 2
