Forrest Gump: 30th Anniversary

This year brings about the return of Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, and Robert Zemeckis. Later in the year, they have a film releasing together called Here, but it feels special because 30 years ago they made the Best Picture winning Forrest Gump, based on a best selling novel. The film has since not aged quite as well as others, especially since its big Oscar competition was Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption. Shawshank at the time did not have the box office, and while Pulp Fiction marked a return to form and a new career high for John Travolta, Tarantino … Continue reading Forrest Gump: 30th Anniversary

Steel Magnolias

Again, living out my Oscar shame. Though, Steel Magnolias surprisingly was not nominated for as many Oscars as I would have assumed. Thanks to AMC Plus, I was able to watch this without the accessibility I need. I think about the supposed streaming wars, and the inevitable collapse of streamers, and I kind of wonder if the ones that are doing things like ignoring accessibility features will survive. Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Sally field, and Rita Moreno team up as the Toon Squad to Tom Brady’s Space jam. The plot is simple. Tomlin had cancer a while back, and she and her friends watched Brady and the patriots because they couldn’t change the channel, and became fans. When her cancer resurfaces, … Continue reading 80 For Brady

Spoiler Alert!

Where I Watched It: Peacock English Audio Description?: Yes I wonder if there are any other critics who find it odd that not only did I just watch a movie about Michael Ausiello, but now I have to write a review about it. The possibility that one day, someone might play Roger Ebert in a biopic has crossed my mind, but it’s Ausiello who made it to the screen first. For those who don’t devour entertainment, Ausiello is an entertainment journalist with a focus on writing about television. I have been a big fan of TVLine since the beginning, and … Continue reading Spoiler Alert!
