After waiting a year to unceremoniously cancel the fantastic Riches, Amazon tries to make up for it by giving Reacher an early season 3 renewal. Yeah, not the same type of show, unless Jack Reacher is now played by a black actress, and the show is now about a heritage beauty brand for black people around the world and the family that helped push it to prominence that is now stuck in a Succession-esque fight for control over their dad’s company. I’m pretty sure that’s not the plot of Reacher. I could be wrong though. Who knows where Season 2 … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 12/02/23

What did you do for Black Friday? Did you buy some awesome gadgets? Any physical media? Did you finally splurge on that air fryer even though you don’t cook but you hope by owning an air fryer you will be more inclined to cook? 1) Neon (Netflix) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed It’s charming me more and more with each episode. The gang gets an offer to shoot a music video, while their would-be agent gets shot down at work even though clearly she saved the day, and our budding musician has a nepotistic interview for a … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/24/23

I’m not feeling the Pedro Pascal casting as Reed Richards, only because I was really hoping for John Krasinski.I know Pascal is hot right now, with The Last Of Us and The Mandalorian, so it makes sense. but Emily Blunt could have played Invisible Girl, and we know Krasinski can write/direct. Just saying. 1) Shelter (Amazon) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Not Yet Renewed Well, that was a doozie of a finale. I think this show was always all over the place, until it actually started trying to tie everything together. I’ve yet to see a Harlan show make a … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/16/23

The SAG strike is over, and within minutes actors were being notified of projected start dates for filming so that shows can air some episodes in the spring. Many shows aren’t looking at being able to do more than 10, though some are hoping for 13.Most new shows are being shifted to next season, so don’t expect to see a lot of unfamiliar far. I do wonder how shows with visual effects will pan out, like the already shortened third (and rumored final) season of Labrea. Movies are also set to resume filming, with Venom 3 even looking at having … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/08/23

Nothing too big in the TV world. The CW confirmed what we already assumed, that this is the final season of The CW… I mean… Superman and Lois. It marks the final show to be cancelled in the once dominant DC Arrowverse that started with the Stephen Amell led series, and birthed spinoffs The Flash, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, Superman and Lois, and arguably also Stargirl and Swamp Thing, though those were originally created for DC’s streaming service. The new CW seems less interested in making their own programming, and instead repurposing Canadian, British, and Australian shows. 9) … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 11/02/23

Dancing With The Stars certainly took the magic of Disney night to max corporate synergy. Meanwhile, some top Hollywood talent are meeting with the SAG negotiations to see what’s up. Oh, I don’t know… the studios don’t want to negotiate? 12) World On Fire (PBS) English Audio Description?: No Status: Unknown I assumed this was a limited series the first time around, but PBS brought it back apparently without Helen hunt, and far more conversations not in English. This is a war drama with a lot of subtitles I can’t read, so much like AMC Plus’s Daryl Dixon, it is … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 10/17/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/24/23

A tentative deal has been reached between the studios and the writers. The details have yet to be made public, but should be shortly as the membership has to vote on it. An official vote by leadership happens on Tuesday, which will solidify this a bit more, and possibly allow some writers to return to work. Most writers will have to wait until the contract is fully ratified by the WGA as a whole, but writers for talk shows are expected to resume possibly later this week, as all they need is for Tuesday’s vote to pass. 11) Daryl Dixon … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 09/24/23

The Too Much TV Roundup- July 12th

There was this thing again in the middle of the day that won’t appear in my rankings of shows. That would be a weird thing to rank. And obviously, I’m talking about the Emmy nominations, which I definitely watched live. JB Smoove was not the right person for that announcement. 1) Ozark (Netflix) English Audio Description Available?: Yes For those wondering why I’m still watching Ozark into July, even at one episode per week, it’s because binge watching critics ruined the back half of the season by revealing the biggest character death. And this was that episode. i was dreading … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- July 12th

The Too Much TV Roundup- July 6th

What an oddly mediocre day of television I assembled for myself. 1) Hacks (HBOMAX) English Audio Description Available?: Yes IIn the 7th and likely penultimate half hour of the season, Deborah pitched her new show to the networks, only to have one that was even slightly interested. The funniest moment of the episode was Deborah coming home and finding out that a CD has been playing in her house since the last time she was there… in 2007. And the harshest moment was her “well you already did”, as a response to her agent disappointing her, when he actually quit … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- July 6th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 29th

Just showing that it can happen. Nothing I watched yesterday is managing an A grade. Minus is as high as we go. 1) The Weakest Link (NBC/Peacock/Hulu) English Audio Description Available?: Depending On Platform. Bet you didn’t see this coming. i was laughing my ass off as somehow, the two dumbest players survived until the finale. This one guy missed the trivia question “I before E except after… what?” I was living for some of these answers. Ultimately, someone who did not deserve 40K got 40K. I loved. This episode so much. The one guy got to the finale and … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 29th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 21st

Since starting doing this daily instead of weekly, i think I’ve always managed at least 5 shows. These January 6th hearings, plus trying to watch a movie everyday is throwing my rhythm off. And, you know, I don’t actually sit in front of a TV all day. 1) The Staircase (HBOMAX) English Audio Description Available?: Yes I was impressed pretty much right out of the gate with this HBO Limited series. No, I didn’t watch the Netflix doc. But, Colin Firth doesn’t usually, if ever, drop his accent, so hearing him pull off an American accent was interesting in itself. … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 21st

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 14th

All of this, plus work, and I managed to squeez in a movie. Time management, y’all. That’s the way to do it. Finished off another show, and kind of finished off another. 1) Stranger Things (Netflix) English Audio Description Available?: Yes The last new episode for a few weeks. I loved how this episode played out, because I felt like it was trying me. At first, I was like, will Eleven ever get out of this fucking training center? Then, I saw what they were doing, and I realized we needed to wait for this moment. Of course, I recognized … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 14th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 7th

Well, I have a couple of shows now with only one episode left that will be finished off next week I believe. Picking the top show today was difficult, as a couple of shows were firing on all cylinders. 1) Russian Doll (Netflix) English Audio Description Available?: Yes In what I believe is the penultimate hour (possibly for the series), Nadia went through some really trippy stuff as she gave birth to herself, then decided to kidnap herself and bring her back to the future, only to find out that time seemed to be collapsing around her. But then her … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 7th

The Too Much TV Roundup- June 1st

After having a day where I watched so many amazing shows, I followed it up with a day with so many really close to amazing shows. Not quite the same thing, but not every episode is created equal. 1) Woke (Hulu) English Audio Description: Yes Yeah, I didn’t expect Woke would ever be topping my daily watchlist either. But, after watching an episode where Keef, still reeling from being attacked for his lineage, hires a new publicist who has big dreams, including having Keef use his own organization to give himself an award for black excellence. So, Keef is giving … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- June 1st

The Too Much TV Roundup- May 28th

So, this was a weird day for me. As I sit down and really think about the rankings, I realize that none of the episodes I watched were really deserving of an A grade. This might be the first day since I started doing the daily roundup that that is the case. And, the best things i did watch, didn’t have audio description. Welcome to my twilight zone. 1) Gaslit (Starz) English Audio Description Available?: No This Watergate drama continues to be compelling material. I almost gave this an A, except there are themes it picks up and drops, like … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- May 28th
