Actor Profile: Mark Strong

I think its a testament to how much work Mark Strong gets, that even though the first time I saw him was in 2006, I’ve already seen 16 things with Mark Strong in it. And, he’s actually been an actor a lot longer since 2006.

BEST PERFORMANCE:
This is tough for me, but I’m actually going to buck the trend and say I really loved him in RockNRolla, which caused me to take notice of him and his potential as an actor. That performance, I believe more than anything else, really led to his breakout career. It was because he worked with Guy Ritchie, that he ended up in Sherlock Holmes.

MOST ICONIC PERFORMANCE
Which brings me to Sherlock Holmes, which is his most iconic role. It’s the film that made the most money, and also had him in the largest role. I doubt he’s remembered fro Green Lantern or Robin Hood, but secondarily perhaps he’s known for being the villain in Kick Ass.

MOST UNDERRATED PERFORMANCE
Say what you want about Robin Hood, but I liked it, and I thought he was good in it.

BEST PERFORMANCE I’VE HEARD WAS GREAT AND HAVEN’T SEEN
I heard he was really good in Low Winter Sun, and I never caught it. I should catch up with it on Netflix (assuming its there).

WORST PERFORMANCE
Oh, well, that has to be Green Lantern right? Can it be anything else?

Roles I’ve Seen:
1) Tristan and Isolde (2006)
2) RockNRolla (2008)
3) Body Of Lies (2008)
4) Sherlock Holmes (2009)
5) The Young Victoria (2009)
6) Kick Ass (2010)
7) Robin Hood (2010)
8) The Guard (2011)
9) The Eagle (2011)
10) Green Lantern (2011)
11) Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (2011)
12) John Carter (2012)
13) Zero Dark Thirty (2013)
14) Before I Go To Sleep (2014)
15) The Imitation Game (2014)
16) Kingsman (2015)
