Actor Profile: Joel Edgerton

Another star of Black Mass, who met the minimum requirement. I only do Actor Profiles if I’ve seen at least 10 things they’ve been in, and I’ve currently seen 13 of Joel Edgerton. I think he’s a star on the rise, and I’ll see a lot more of him in the future.

BEST PERFORMANCE:
His best performance is in Warrior. Him and Tom Hardy gave incredible performances, and they weren’t recognized. He also directed the pretty fantastic The Gift, and showed us that he has a lot of potential also as a director.

MOST ICONIC PERFORMANCE:
I’m not sure he has an iconic performance, but I feel like Black Mass did a lot to help further his status in Hollywood. I’m thinking my answer for this might be Loving, if he gets an Oscar nomination for that.

MOST UNDERRATED PERFORMANCE:
Go back in time and watch Kinky Boots. I know everyone is excited for the musical, but the movie was pretty damn good too, and due in large part to Edgerton.

BEST PERFORMANCE I’VE HEARD WAS GOOD AND HAVEN’T SEEN:
I heard he was good in Animal Kingdom, but I’ve never seen it.

WORST PERFORMANCE/FILM:
He has a really small part, but I really didn’t like Star Wars Episode II.

1) Race The Sun (1996)
2) Star Wars: Episode II: Attack Of The Clones (2002)
3) King Arthur (2004)
4) Kinky Boots (2005)
5) Smokin Aces (2006)
6) The Legend Of The Guardians (2010)
7) Warrior (2011)
8) The Odd Life Of Timothy Green (2012)
9) Zero Dark Thirty (2012)
10) The Great Gatsby (2013)
11) The Gift (2015)
12) Black Mass (2015)
13) Midnight Special (2016)
