Yes, this film has audio description narrated by Terminators, and it’s not a bad film. ultimately, I’m going to recommend a film to you that has robodescription. I’m sorry about that.
The truth is, Vivarium is a dish best served with as little knowledge as humanly possible. I chose this film due to the fact that the many film message board/groups I’m in, this title comes up as being “one of the scariest… EVER.” Ever is a bit of a stretch, but it’s creative and inventive enough to qualify as a worthwhile psychological horror. It’s not straight up gore porn, but rather it just keeps getting weirder, and putting you at unease.
For the most part, the pacing is fine. The acting from the two leads, Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg is solid. I’m not going rogue on this one, as it is certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. But, seriously, try and not know what this film is about. It does a great job of not wasting time anyway, putting you almost immediately in the middle of the shit within the first five minutes.
It’s a quirky little freaky nightmare that I was glad to partake in.
The Blind Perspective: Since this was done by a robot, no company claimed ownership over the narration. To say that it is one of the better Robodescription isn’t saying much, it just means that whoever did the mixing and timing paid attention. the bar is so low here, that if the audio description doesn’t talk on top of characters in the film, I consider it a win.
Final Grade: A-
