The Too Much TV Roundup- November 22nd

Considering how insanely busy I was yesterday, this list, while short, is actually longer than i thought it would be.

4) This Fool (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Compared to last weeks amazing episode, where I commented on the amazing quality of the narration, and how they must be using a form of auto tune to shift the pitch of the narrator’s voice, only to learn that… No. He just is that good. He can pitch his own voice and speak in ranges varying characters that seem like you would need the assistance of a program, or the bare minimum… helium. He just does that. This episode, which featured far more English actually made me sad, because i was so ready to experience the madness of this revelation again. Sadly, it was just another solid episode.

Episode Grade: B+

3) Rami (Hulu)

English Audio Description?: Yes

Rami gets shamed for working with someone outside the family. And, it is also proven that if you fall asleep to Shark Tank, those investors will reject you in your sleep as well.

Episode Grade: B+

2) Vampire Academy (Peacock)

English Audio Description?: Yes

I’m trying to remember the book. It’s been so long. But, this episode really just made things more obvious, like… who is dangerous, and likely the villain, and it’s frustrating to see it flaunted about in an episode where they are talking about how an attack at another school likely came with help from the inside. Then, this character who has gotten little to no screentime thus far, immediately enters with all the shadiness of a bad Bond girl. Like, I get that the Moroai need to be sexy and mysterious, but when you flaunt your way in and everyone is on edge after a massacre, looking for someone nefarious, how on earth has no one picked up on this vamp’s vibes? A solid episode, but I think even the Hardy Boys could have detected her obvious intent.

Episode Grade: A-

1) Never Have I Ever (Netflix)

English Audio Description?: Yes

This was the season finale, and as it set Davie up for the potential of a new school with academic challenges, it also brought with her the realization that transferring her Senior Year and not getting to finish this with the crew she started with was too much ultimately to walk away from. That, and a realization that her entire story has been built on recovering from grief, and that her and her mother are finally in a good place, and she’s still obviously afraid of being orphaned. The show is boldly sending Paxton off, and giving Davie closure on that end, but opening up what looks like the potential for a Ben and Davie finale? Which sucks for the new girl that Ben has been flirting with. Will he break another girl’s heart next season, just because he can’t tell Davie how he truly feels? Season 4 can’t get here soon enough. A solid season finale, and I’m glad Netflix agreed to do one more season and allow these kids to graduate.

Episode Grade: A
