I did hear that ABC picked up The Rookie for next season. It’s very odd that they wouldn’t pick up Feds at the same time, unless that show is not as secure as most thought it was.
8) Hello Tomorrow (Apple Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I suppose the scene showing Jack in the past getting screwed over, and what started this whole thing was interesting, but to be totally honest, this show went in a direction creatively that I wasn’t hoping for. I’m already deep enough in the first season that I’ll hang out to see if they can pull it around somehow. I love Billy Crudup, but if they continue this path, I wouldn’t come back for a second season and I don’t know how the writers can fix it. It had something special, but now it just feels like the same old shit.

7) The Ark (Peacock)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Also recently renewed for a second season, the 9th episode in this series just came too early. There was a team of people put on board to protect the Trust’s because they were so unpopular that someone might try to kill them. In fact, last episode, there were people visibly angry at their presence. Yet, somehow, in one episode, the entire fucking ship just went from hate to worship, and it wasn’t earned. I know this writers room feels the pressure of their episode order, but that’s not my fault. Episode orders don’t give you carte Blanche to write nonsensical character development. Basically, the mood on the ship can be best described as…. Squirrel!

6) Outlast (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Well, Jordan manages to do his one-on-one interviews with the camera, so the fake drama about him falling and hitting his head means I know he didn’t die. Which means this episode chose to go for a really cheap and lazy cliffhanger, instead of just answering the question of his fate by eliminating him, or seeing him choose safety of whatever. There were no eliminations this episode, and without the normal constraints of a specific runtime due to needing to air on a network, I call shenanigans that Netflix aired a competition reality series episode with no eliminations.

5) The Great North (FOX/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
This show disappears for long chunks so thankfully I have Hulu to remind me when a new episode exists. however, a journey to dig up a pineapple sounded like how the episode would go, but mostly they leaned into other plot points. Or was it a coconut? I don’t know, because Judy spent most of the episode trying to pretend to be other people.

4) American Idol (ABC/hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Honestly, having to wait till next week for results means the enjoyment of this great singing is tempered by the fact that I have no idea if my favorites survive. Who knows. But, there was some tremendous singing here. That Wei girl can fucking SANG.

3) Daisy Jones and the Six (Amazon)
English Audio Description?: yes
You know, I really liked Daisy’s friend and her storyline, and I felt like this episode just kind of found a way for her to get dropped from the series. I hope that’s not true, and she comes back around. But, I definitely took off points because i felt like she wasn’t coming back, and instead this episode built to Daisy and Billy bonding over a baby crying because Billy probably didn’t pay the damn power bill.

2) East New York (Paramount Plus)
English Audio Description?: Yes
This fake cop episode was interesting. At least it didn’t play out the way people thought. I kinda wish they hadn’t gone the way of making the guy out to be a bit nuts by having him pull that gun, because it turned out he was mostly helping people, and even had reasons for doing certain things, including being the one of find this missing super rare cello. There was an alternative story here they could have gone with about someone being passionate about being a police officer after being denied the academy for some specific reason, and still holding true to the importance of not impersonating a police officer, without the extra stuff, but otherwise this was a solid episode. Regina’s stuff with her dad played out exactly how i expected it would.

1) The Good Doctor (ABC/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
I believe Tristan Snyder and Audio Eyes are responsible for this narration, but it’s always great. I love how it is able to try and explain Sean’s visual puzzles, but mostly I enjoy how the show utilized that same specificity this week with Glassman and his brief vision impairment. Otherwise, as far as the actual show, it’s just been pushing really obvious plots now, that are playing out exactly like I thought they would. I’m not surprised by anything happening. The only thing that could surprise me would be like… Jordan dying. It’s not in her current trajectory, so that would throw off everything. Otherwise, I could write the season finale write now.
