I get to free up my schedule by a show now. Two episodes. That was enough for me to tell this procedural can’t escape the been there done that feel of all other shows that came before it, where some smart person consults with police. After years of The Mentalist, lie To Me, unforgettable, and many others, there is nothing that stands out here. I predicted the killer before he was introduced on screen.

The gang at Hugs not Thugs gets a rude awakening when they watch a video of childbirth. Also, someone is writing a negative article about their coffee shop, so they have to stop him from doing so. There’s a joke in here about a giant penis. Not my favorite episode, but hey. They can’t all be winners.

Other than Mike saying some unfortunate things since he’s supposed to be the progressive one, this episode that basically focused entirely on Mike and Gloria impressed me with the rapid fire dialogue. Mike was a bit too much like Archie, and Gloria was a bit too aloof for no real reason.

After making it through a total series rewatch, I’m now at Season 3. Everyone is still interested in Siri, and the usual gang is still trying to protect her, and get her to tap into her powers.

Harley feels like she’s losing her mind, so she tries to talk to Ivy about it, but she’s busy… so they travel through time to a post apocalyptic wasteland run by Robin. They find out they had a daughter and she’s named after a character in Avatar. Can they get back to their time to stop this from happening?

2) Only Murders In The Building (Hulu)

I’m a week behind. So I just got to the killer reveal, though I predicted a while back that there are two killers. So I think the final episode is likely to reveal who the other one is. However, they celebrate Mabel’s birthday by continuing to solve a murder. I almost put this on top just because Steve Martin got to reference Father Of The bride. I will say, if Killer #1 holds up, they weren’t on my radar at all.

I don’t know how Amazon doesn’t pick this up. This spinoff of The boys is still flawless, and the characters are really pulling me in quick. I love their dynamic, and the mystery being set up. The audio description here is great, the show is still very edgy and on brand for the universe it’s in. It’s a great way to keep The Boys fans engaged in between.
