TV Shows Watched: X-Men 97: S2E6 (Disney Plus) with audio description, Legends- S1E6 (Netflix) with audio description, Widows Bay: S1E8 (Apple) with audio description, Scarpetta: S1E7 (Amazon) with audio description, St Dennis medical: S2E11 (Peacock) with audio description, Stranger Things: Tales From 88- S1E8 (Netflix) with audio description, and The Daily Show (Paramount) no audio description

X-Men 97- So, this episode is nuts. But,at least the AD is complete, and also Disney fixed the AD on the previous episode. I think it’s synthetic, but I can’t prove it, so much like the female narrator I refer to as She-Ra. X-Men 97 is now narrated by Armie Hammer. I can’t prove it isn’t. Citizen Vigilante in the house. Ladies, when he says he wants to have you over for dinner, it has a completely different connotation. I did love the Polaris centric episode, which has a resurrection at the end, but not of who you might think.

Legends- Finished, and there is no chance for a second season. This is truly a limited series, as it was based on a true story. I plan on doing a full review, but for now, vSI did a solid job with the description.

Widows Bay- Loved the cannonball jump referenced here, and the episode overall did make me think… we nominated this in Comedy Series? Great episode though, and a nice feature for Kate O’Flynn.

Scarpetta- Still bouncing around timelines. When the one lady came in and was like “some of us don’t have the luxury of the truth”, I was kinda like… then make some space for it?There’s a bit of a shock at the end, setting up the season finale. Already renewed, and the AD is fine. I have no complaints.

St Dennis Medical- Weak AD as it always fights its format. I felt that a few times here, where it didn’t quite have the time to catch every reference, but still a very funny and charming episode. I wish Josh Lawson could get an Emmy nod for Bruce.

Stranger Things: Tales From 85- Season 2 comes this fall. Thanks? I think shorter, feature length animated films would have been the better choice, as this one loses steam stretched over 10 episodes. And this is coming from the guy who watched all of camp Cretaceous and has almost finished Chaos Theory, and would tell you those shows are better than most Jurassic World movies. The AD is fine though. It is still Jamie Lemcheck, aligning with Season 5, even if she didn’t do the full run of Stranger Things.

The Daily Show- It was as blue and politically charged as it could be. And I loved it. Sometimes I mention in case there’s a guest, like how last week was Christopher Nolan, but this guy was the former chair of the Wisconsin DNC. I don’t think he has a broad audience.

Best AD? Widows Bay. Honestly, I thought the episode was handled extremely well.

Worst AD? I appreciated some of the stuff in the X-Men 97 writing, though Armie Hammer as narrator gives me pause. I did head Prime Sentinels, and I’m still a bit in Mea Culpa mode. As much as I love the show, St Dennis Medical had the weakest audio description. The DAily Show had none, but these episodes have a very short lifespan. I don’t think people are binge watching the Daily Show. Aspects of these three would tie them all at the bottom, instead of there being one singular dial of the day.
