Coming up this week for you to add to watch lists: Season 2 of The Paper (Peacock) returns Wednesday, the final season of Colin From Accounts (Paramount Plus) returns Thursday, and The Secret Lives Of Mormon Wives (Hulu) has a truncated fifth season. new shows A Tale of Two cities (MGM Plus), Dang! (Netflix), Crew Girl (Netflix) and Last Seen (Apple) hope to draw in new viewers, while Peacock airs a retrospective for The office fans on Monday, and HBO celebrates Band Of Brothers on Wednesday. Several 9/11 specials are planned for Friday, and in film Supergirl lands on HBo MAX on Thursday, while Tyler Perry inexplicably asks Why did I Get Married Again.

The Bombing Of Pan Am Flight 103- I obviously plan to review this. Adrenaline Studios did a nice job with this. the audio description has quite a bit of on screen text, the show takes place over a decade, and has a massive ensemble. The show itself, and the description, is deeply respectful of its subject matter, and doesn’t look to sensationalize unnecessarily. Peter Mullen was a standout for me.
The Rookie- John and his fellow police officers, with slight assist from Garza, catch those responsible for stalking Bailey. Bailey makes a big choice about her character arc. Wesley is still being thwarted by someone. Zuzu tries to help in the best way a nefarious rogue AI can, before apparently being shut down. For good?This show loves its recurring cast members. The AD here was fine, and I realized it goes uncredited at the end.
Five Star Weekend- The ladies go to a spa, where dirt is spilled instead of rejuvenating cleanliness. Elektra pops up. At least one person knows why Gigi is really here. I do really love the AD here. It tries to do a lot. it can get a bit interpretive at times, like with Brooke’s facial expressions when she and Hollis are driving back to the house.But in general, there’s a lot of description here, and the voice matches the show nicely.
Best: There’s no loser today. I do really like The Five Star Weekend, so I’m sticking with that. I can see why it would have detractors, but there’s so much here. It can be accused of being a try hard, but considering so much AD seems to limp across the finish line, I’d rather have overachievers than underachievers.
