Box Office Predictions- 6/7-6/9
1) The Internship- 30M weekend, 30M total Everyone in the industry swears this film is tracking at 20M. I have a hard time believing that Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson’s reteaming is that low. But, I guess, I can’t go crazy and say 50M. I’m predicting a solid 30M. The film is PG-13, so grosses won’t be limited. The Internship screened on Saturday for audiences, which is a giant show of faith that audiences are really responding to the film. They’ve avoided showing it to critics, but it doesn’t seem like a critics choice film. Vince Vaughn’s last summer effort, … Continue reading Box Office Predictions- 6/7-6/9
The Voice Top 6 Recap and Grades
That was an interesting episode. Three people really fought to stay in the competition, and Team Blake suffered from really uninteresting song choices. Holly Tucker- When God Fearing Women Get The Blues I suppose this is an OK song for her, but Holly never seems to connect with the lyrics. Vocally, its an OK song for her, but the lights are on and no one is home. Amber Carrington really does connect with all her lyrics, so its hard to imagine what that would be like with Holly. She’s continually the weakest ‘performer’, and she might be saying goodbye this … Continue reading The Voice Top 6 Recap and Grades

Game Of Thrones… So True
Los Bandoleros- The Missing ‘Fast’ Movie
Entertainment Weekly just brought forth Los Bandoleros, the short film that Vin Diesel shot that ties in a bunch of stuff in the franchise to Fast 4. It explains where Dom was that whole time, and Letty appears, and Han, and some other familiar faces. This franchise keeps surprising me. Its only 20 minutes long, so enjoy! Continue reading Los Bandoleros- The Missing ‘Fast’ Movie

Five Great Suggestions For The Next ‘Doctor Who’
Matt Smith was basically plucked from obscurity, but if Doctor Who chooses another Doctor… let them at least consider these five wonderful candidates: 1) Chiwetel Ejiofor Let’s have a black Doctor. Let’s just do it, and screw the people who think the Doctor can’t be black. Chiwetel has been churning in character actor mode for years, but an occasional lead (like Kinky Boots) proves he’s got what it takes to be a leading man. Take him to that next level. 2) Tom Hiddleston Obviously, Loki would be better suited as a villain, but Tom’s star is rising because of his … Continue reading Five Great Suggestions For The Next ‘Doctor Who’
My Emmy Dream Picks: Best Actor In A Comedy Series
Here are my (albeit unconventional) picks for Best Actor in a Comedy for the upcoming Emmy awards. This isn’t who I think will be nominated, but rather who I would be nominating (my wish list). Joel McHale (Community) Don’t you think it’s about time that Joel McHale be recognized for being the centerpiece of a terrific ensemble and one of the funniest shows on TV? I do. Matthew Perry (Go On) I realize this is not happening. I’ve come to terms with this. But, what better way to let NBC know they made a mistake in cancelling this show (which … Continue reading My Emmy Dream Picks: Best Actor In A Comedy Series
