Today is MAX day! Except… it’s not here just yet. I checked my apps, and HBO MAX still works. Basically, at some point today, you will be prompted to get the new MAX app. There are a few pieces of tech that support HBo MAX right now and use a screen reader that won’t work with MAX, like PS4. PS5 however will. There’s a new tier, and according to the press release, this 20 dollar a month tier is where the 4K lives as well as 4 streams. I’m a bit confused by the warning I saw about Game Of … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/22/23

Well, FOX is still holding out on some decisions but announced a writer’s proof schedule full of reality TV. They even revived Kitchen Nightmares. I believe ABC is the only network that hasn’t done an upfront yet, possibly also The CW. It’s hard to tell in this day and age when the Networks are feeling less energized and also avoiding writer’s strike blowback. 11) Tiny beautiful Things (Hulu) English Audio Description?: Yes Status: Limited Series I think with each episode of Kathryn Hahn’s dark comedy I tend to dislike it more. I’m not really settling in, nor do I feel … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/15/23

Well, fans of SWAT have had a very confusing past couple of days. After cancelling the hit drama on Friday, and seeing a torrent of backlash for cancelling a show that has risen in ratings every season, CBS has reversed its decision and given SWATT a 7th season renewal. That renewal comes at the expense of Freshman drama East New York, which was looking good for renewal and instead got the boot. I did hear the major contention over ENY was streaming rights, as CBS wanted all seasons available on Paramount Plus, but they only have the rights to the … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/08/23

I can’t claim a shortage of good news today. The WGA voted finally to go on strike, which is officially happening right now. That means all guild writers, which is most of Hollywood, have ceased working on their projects. This affects shows with quick turnover rates first, like late night talk and variety shows. So until this strike is over, expect Colbert, Meyers, Fallon, Kimmel, and others to be reruns. This also likely ended Saturday Night Live’s season, unless a deal is reached soon. Pete Davidson was supposed to host this week, and I don’t believe that’s happening since some … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup- 05/01/23

You know the deal. It’s time for another top 10 shows from last week from me. I started watching a few new shows, but will they make it onto the top 10? 1) Black-ish (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description Available?: On most episodes (from my experience). The Johnson’s bid us farewell last week, closing their door on a seven season Emmy nominated run, that launched two spinoffs. As we saw in the pilot, Dre came full circle in realizing that the strongest move he could make wasn’t to lift only his family up into an all white community, but rather to … Continue reading the Too Much TV Roundup

It’s Monday, so it’s time for another smattering of television programs I’ve been watching. I wrapped up a few this week, which should allow me to launch into a few new ones next week. 1) The Wonder Years (ABC/Hulu) English Audio Description Available?: Not Consistently This should have made my list last week when they got the phone call right at the end, but I really wanted to see where they would go with this week’s episode, bringing back the eldest brother from Vietnam after being wounded in combat. I expected the episode to go dark with this, but it … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup

You know the drill. There are a ton of streaming services, not to mention actual cable still exists, and it’s hard for one person to cover all my feelings about every single series I’m watching in their own individual post. So here’s a glance at what I watch (slowly, while not binge watching) when I’m not watching movies. Netflix: One of these days I’d like to write about All Of us Are Dead. I’ve heard good things, but I heard good things about Squid Game too back in the day, and tried to start watching that without audio description and … Continue reading The Too Much TV Roundup
