Well, FOX is still holding out on some decisions but announced a writer’s proof schedule full of reality TV. They even revived Kitchen Nightmares. I believe ABC is the only network that hasn’t done an upfront yet, possibly also The CW. It’s hard to tell in this day and age when the Networks are feeling less energized and also avoiding writer’s strike blowback.
11) Tiny beautiful Things (Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes

I think with each episode of Kathryn Hahn’s dark comedy I tend to dislike it more. I’m not really settling in, nor do I feel like the show has settled in. By the third episode, we’ve already moved away a bit from the storyline about the nursing home, and we’re focusing on the daughter and her threesomes. Maybe the book on which this is based makes more sense, but as a show, I’m turning the channel.

10) Beef (Netflix)
English Audio Description?: Yes

I hadn’t really gotten the opportunity to enjoy this show yet because of its structure. But the third episode slowed down a bit, and focused a little more on character development. So, our two main lead characters, got more fleshed out, which is important in order to want to continue their journey. It’s still not my favorite show.

It’s time to throw Grandma in the tar pits, as a time honored tradition. Or is it?

8) Family Matters (HBo MAX)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Ended
While this has audio description, it is half hour sitcom audio description, so you’d be surprised at the little moments missed. But, the show clearly is strongly focused on the parents, with Eddie getting far more screentime than Laura. i remember watching this as a kid, and thinking Laura and urkel were the leads. Revisiting this as an adult is quite a different experience.

7) American Idol (ABC/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Renewed (since they are already promoting auditions for next season)
Disney night was a mixture of Disney and Mother’s Day. it was hard for them to dedicate songs to Mom, so they just wrote letters. Some really bizarre choices mean that the Disney catalog has really opened up. I wasn’t expecting to hear anything from Maleficent 2, Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, Onward, or lava, among others. I ranked this a little lower, since America got it wrong. Wei deserved a finale spot. Not only because week in and out she’s been a consistent powerhouse vocalist, but both her choices this week were actually really solid.

6) The Great north (FOX)
English Audio Description?: No
Status: Renewed
i do love how silly this show gets. There’s a smell in lone Moose, and it’s also prom night. Somehow, this is a two-parter. So, the stunning conclusion will hit us next week.

Really, a great Cory/Shawn episode as we learn a bit more about how Shawn’s dad has been laid off right before Christmas. So, he might not be getting that many presents this year. Cory decides to give Shawn one of his presents, but learns that the true meaning of the season isn’t expecting praise for your charity. It isn’t until he makes sure Shawn’s name is on the Christmas Card for Mr. Feeney, that Cory truly comes through. Also, in the B-Plot, Morgan believes she killed Santa.

A contestant made it four voting rounds before being eliminated despite never answering a single question correctly. Had I been competing against her, i would have tried to get her to the final two against me for an easy win.

Well, Nicky is a totally different person when he joins Daisy on tour. He’s kinda useless. And I hate how the show throws billy a lifeline every once in a while to redeem his character. I dislike Billy so much.He needs a true redemption arc, that doesn’t involve Daisy, if this show sticks around full time.

2) 911 (FOX/Hulu)
English Audio Description?: Yes
Status: Moving To ABC
Wow, so Season 2 still has audio description. This was Part 1 of the massive earthquake episode, which I’m sure cost a lot to film. Everyone was doing some great work, and since this is Part 1, it ended in a cliffhanger with lives still in the balance.

People are taking jobs. Viv is taking her job. Phil is taking his. Carlton is still freaking out, and Connor is still dealing him drugs. Will is trying to figure out his future, both with Doc, and his girlfriend. Even Hilary and little sis had their own solid storyline when some Ballers show up to help her house get more followers.
